1/2012 - 10/2023 🤍 Princess Ka’iulani, Kai, my chicken nugget!!
Almost 12 years you’ve been in my life, more than half of my life, which is crazy to me. You’ve practically been through it all with me, from end of elementary, middle school, high school, and college too! Your brother is going to really miss you even though he’d bully you all the time, it’s cause he loved you! You were one of the best, most loving companions I could’ve ever asked for and I’m going to miss you so much, I’m still in shock and don’t want to believe it’s true but I know you are in a much better place now. Our bond was like no other and you were more than just another pet, you were my best friend, and I could just talk nonsense to you and you’d sit beside me on my pillow and just look at me as though you were actually listening. I’m happy you got to meet some of my friends from all aspects of my life and I hope I was able to give you the life you deserved.
This day came much faster than I thought due to you being sick but I’m glad I got to see you one last time over the summer. I’m going to miss you so much, I love you Kai, I’ll never forget you. 🤍 223AT by @_graciebby

It’s been quite a year, and one i’m very proud of myself for. I know lil me would definitely be proud too. After having to live with a family who doesn’t respect you, your future, your friends and loved ones, it was finally enough. After 22 years… Last year I cut ties with my abusive/narcissistic mother, mentally/verbally/physically/financially. I couldn’t live like this anymore as I was constantly belittled, brought to my breaking point and the list can go on and on. One of the biggest decisions I have ever made and one I have been planning for, ever since I was very young and could understand what being mistreated was.
I’ve accomplished quite a lot on my own. From barely making ends meet and becoming financially independent, getting my first job on my own, figuring out my own means of transportation, paying for rent/classes on my own + help from my partner, being drum major and now being on pro staff, getting my EMT license & struggling to find a healthcare job, reconnecting with my biological father and so much more. I couldn’t have done all of this and grown mentally strong without finally making that decision. Most importantly if it weren’t for the support of my partner, close friends and those who I consider my new family here in Tucson, I would NOT have EVER been able to.
This past year has also been full of grief from losing my cat of 12 years, the lahaina fires, loss of loved ones, spending holidays not with blood family, and coming to terms with my decision. When I reflect on what i’ve gone through I am so proud of myself for pushing through and setting goals for myself to get to that “one day…” and now that it’s happened… my life has changed for the better and I couldn’t be happier. I graduated!!👩🏽‍🎓🤍

I’ve received a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Biomedical Science and a Minor in Music! I’m not leaving UofA quite yet as I’ve got unfinished business with @prideofarizona 🎺 but i’m excited to see what the future holds!!

Thank you all who’ve made my time here enjoyable/memorable and I definitely consider AZ my new home <3

band camp 2021 is done!! had the best week with the best section and i definitely missed doing all of this with a group of such amazing and talented people 💙
