These headdress designs draw inspiration from Central Asia and ethnic Chinese groups. Throughout history there has been a lot of overlap in costume influences across Central Asia and the Sinosphere/East Asia, so these looks are reimagined through a modern fashion-editorial lens. ^_^

The wardrobe I created consists of mix-and-match pieces that work with hanfu looks and other cultural outfits, reflecting shared construction techniques across various cultures within Asia.

Made these set of headdresses pre-pandemic in 2020 and postponed the shoot when the pandemic hit, then spent awhile re-visualizing the concept over time and finally shot in summer 2025. ^_^
