When I made this shirt I planned on restarting my tshirt business but I just couldn’t move my feet.. Now that I’m into gardening heavy I understand why I had to wait. I needed a clear plan and just showing people that I was creative without using the tools accessible to me (artificial intelligence) wasn’t enough. I had to sit down and listen to the sound of my heart and of God within. I made this while I was hurting damn near dead lmfao dug deep to find meaningful words and now I’m ready to start my life again. I hate saying this but I was born to break and build again I just hope that last break taught the people around me lessons like it taught me. Dei Gratia is Latin and it means by the grace of God. Not to get all deep lol but I just learned things about the pecan tree that I have to share. First as a Black woman who knows the history of butter pecan ice cream it brings me joy to know that the pecan tree is a master of survival, has deep roots and can stretch. That’s exactly how I have been feeling lately like a big ass tree that refuses to die or be moved. I recently found a few pecan trees next to the garden I fell in love with and today I took some home and planted them. Although this isn’t my forever home I’m starting to plant things that the next family might enjoy. Hopefully the landlord doesn’t get mad when the bamboo and pecan trees take over the yard 🥹😭 #withlove #butterpecan #treesoflife #gardening by @_hersoulsings__

I decided to slow down on the lessons because it’s a lot to read and take in for the average person. The last thing I wanna do is trigger people so ima just stress the fact the symbols have always carried meaning. A lion can represent courage, leadership, protection, or a family’s story. Colors, shields, crowns, hands, animals, and emblems were often used to identify a people, a nation, a tribe or a royal house. Whether we are looking at the Tribe of Judah, family crests, national coats of arms or cultural designs passed down through generations, these images invite us to look deeper.
I want my family to understand that heritage is more than a name on paper. It is the stories, faith, struggles, gifts, traditions, places, and people that helped shape us. Learning about these symbols does not mean we accept every claim without research it means we stay curious, HONOR our ancestors, and TEACH our children that where they come from matters. The song popped up so randomly and yea ima cry baby but fr I just love being outside in gardens so ima be sad come winter when it gets unbearable for my little body to be out here lol. Teaching my baby lessons and hearing words for myself. “It’s not ready yet” sometimes things aren’t ready to be picked and so we must leave them and let them grow. It’s the same with people and situations.
