Note to self, GA winters are cold enough that you actually have to winterize your fountains ⛲️ Thankfully, I was able to fix the cracks that resulted in my negligence and the fountain is working again. I used my small leaf blower to clean out the dead leaves and dirt, then gave it a good scrub, dried the basin out with the leaf blower again, and then used silicone caulk to fill in the cracks. Once that cured, I put everything back together, filled it with water and turned the pump on. Easy fix!

I pruned my hydrangeas a bit differently this year as well, so I am interested to see if that gives me a difference in blooms this year. I will update when they bloom in May/June! by @_holistichaus

I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do this by myself, especially once I saw the size of the tiller I rented from Home Depot 😬

But it turns out, I not only could, I was also able to return the rental an hour early! All in all, I tilled the 860+ square foot garden, plus two rows outside the fence for my cottage garden border in about 2 hours.

Every day is a lovely surprise to see who’s laid a beautiful egg for us. We have some new girls around here, and most of them have started laying 😍 The green ones are usually my favorites.

I hope to have a chicken coop update to share in the next couple of weeks as well! It’s turning out almost Pinterest worthy! by @_holistichaus

I’ve debated for almost a year on if I wanted to have this climbing rose climb the house, or on a pergola over the garage.

I do really love garage pergolas. But every single beautiful English or French manor home I draw inspiration from never has visible support for the roses that climb it.

So I’m going that route with mine too. If I ever change my mind and want to do a pergola, I still can.

If you love roses, or gardening, follow along because I am planting tons in the next couple of weeks. By June they’ll be blooming 😍

No husbands were actually angered with this project. In fact, he still hasn’t even noticed, haha! by @_holistichaus

Unlacquered brass is for people who want their home to feel lived in.

One of the best parts about unlacquered brass is that it naturally patinas and deepens in color as it’s touched and used. Instead of staying shiny and uniform, it slowly develops warmth, character, and that perfectly imperfect vintage look designers and historic homes are known for.

It’s a finish that evolves with your space, making each handle and knob completely unique over time. And the best part? If you ever miss that bright, polished brass look, you can simply polish it to bring the shine right back.

If you love timeless interiors, European-inspired details, and natural materials that get better with age, unlacquered brass is such a beautiful choice.

Save this for future home projects and follow along for more classic, character-filled design inspiration.

Which do you prefer? Unlacquered, polished, or a different colored finish? taken in Alpharetta, Georgia by @_holistichaus

There’s something so grounding about choosing pieces that feel timeless ✨

We finally dressed our bay window with custom curtains from @selectblinds, and I knew immediately I wanted something that honored the character of this room.

The William Morris Acanthus Jacquard in Antique Bronze felt like the perfect match for the judges paneling. Warm, rich, and quietly dramatic in the best way.

Select Blinds made it so easy to choose by sending fabric samples first (highly recommend), and seeing the snow flurries fall outside with a cozy fire going… it’s officially my favorite corner of the house right now.

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your space, you can use HOLISTICHAUS10 for 10% off your order.

Saving this one for winter nesting season 🤍

2025 was a difficult year for me. I’ve battled fatigue and lack of motivation so hard, and I’ll be honest, they both won out for three quarters of the year. So many things unfinished or not started that I wanted to tackle. But there were still some gems sprinkled in!

Every night before bed we ask the kids to each tell us one thing they are grateful or thankful for that happened that day. It helps practice mindfulness and hopefully helps them find something positive even on the hard days.

This reel is helping me do the same for 2025, even when I feel like I accomplished so very little that I wanted to.

I am grateful that 2026 is a new opportunity to see the things I didn’t finish come to fruition 💟🫶🏼 by @_holistichaus

No more thin and wimpy mantle garland for this girl! I’ve finally figured out how to make the Christmas mantle look thick and lush without blocking the tv (and soundbar) for my dear husband.

I didn’t invent any new groundbreaking ideas, just implemented new to me ones. I used command ties to hold multiple layers of garland, except the right side just wouldn’t stay so that’s a good old fashioned nail and wire, and then added *lots* of greenery and berry picks focusing on the corners and vertical pieces so singular we didn’t block the giant black box of viewing pleasure.

I am on the hunt for new heirloom quality stockings for next year. Maybe I’ll make some from wool sweaters? Still to be determined, but I’m over the big box store polyester ones that never hang right.

All that to say, if your garland feels thin and you want it more lush, just add layers next year! taken in Milton, Georgia by @_holistichaus

I should be wrapping Christmas presents, but my adhd kicked in and I hung a gallery wall in our downstairs hallway with antique store and thrift store finds I’ve been collecting instead. They’ve been gathering dust - literally please don’t look too close 😅 - so I’m really happy I did this because it’s given this transitional space between the entryway and the kitchen such a homey feel I didn’t know it was missing! And it’s one more task off my mental to do list!

So cheers to procrastination and side quests! 🥂 Also, please tell me I’m not the only one who does things like this?? taken in Alpharetta, Georgia by @_holistichaus

If you’re craving a quick holiday upgrade that looks elevated, these faux cedar sconce swags create such a beautiful little moment!

I trimmed a few cedar greenery stems, tied them together to create a natural swag shape, and added a deep burgundy velvet ribbon to match the rest of my stair garland decor. It instantly made the entryway feel more intentional, festive, and pulled together.

If you’re looking for Christmas decor ideas, holiday styling, DIY projects, or simple ways to elevate your home for the season, save this one. It’s easy, budget-friendly, and looks so luxe!

You know I usually go for traditional and vintage Christmas decor, but I had to pivot for my beautiful twin boys! 😅

I usually aim for classic elegance, but let’s be honest: how could I not give them the ultimate, sparkling, prehistoric tree they asked for? Ronin wanted “those silver balls that make rainbows.” And Callum issued our resident dinosaur expert so it was no surprise that’s what he wanted. So, disco dino tree it is!

This is a reminder that fun, unexpected changes can make a BIG impact!! I am almost done putting up my regular vintage decor, so follow along to see my traditional vintage style in the next few days!
