Apparently Air Force 1s are dad shoes now. Fair enough… if the shoe fits.

Summer rotation has been pretty consistent the recently swapping in ‘Linens’ here and there.

I’ve learnt the hard way that proper loafers and playgrounds don’t mix. Starting the day with coffee and a little window shopping somehow always ends up by the swings.

That’s where the slip-on loafers earn their place.

Being a dad teaches you pretty quickly… always leave the house prepared.

A few things have quietly become part of the everyday carry. Nothing crazy, just the bits that save the day more often than not.

Before anyone says it… No, the scrunchies aren’t all I’ve packed. Little miss has her own bag.

Funny how your everyday essentials change over the years. A few years ago it would’ve been a camera and headphones, now it’s hair ties, snacks and wipes.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Social media keeps showing me fashion creators with all the time in the world.

Meanwhile, where are the men juggling work, school runs and still trying to put together a decent outfit?

The older I’ve got, the more it feels like menswear content becomes one of two things: either chasing every trend or settling for a tee and joggers and calling it a day.

And don’t tell me it’s because we’ve lost interest. I know some of you lot were getting proper fits off back in the day.

So where are you? Are we still out here and the algorithm just isn’t showing us?

I think we’re getting past the point where summer style for men starts and ends with a tee and shorts.

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple. But once you start paying attention to fabrics, everything changes.

Linen, seersucker, lightweight cotton, mix in a paper-thin vintage tee, a crochet polo, maybe a pair of shorts that actually sit where they’re supposed to, and you’re halfway there.

The older I get; the less I’m interested in wearing more, I’d rather wear better.

Trying something a little different for spring.
No tee, just wife pleaser, lightweight jackets, and dressing for whatever the weather feels like doing.

Mixed lightweight trousers with hiking boots for this one. A bit of contrast, but sometimes that’s what makes the outfit work.

Might Be Time to Retire the Trench

If the hat and the sweatshirt don’t make sense to you…

I can’t even help you.

Had to take it back for this one.
A little nod to one of the coldest kids sports films to come out of that era.

Mixed it in with a bit of that 90s sport coat and cap feel.
Keeping it subtle, but it’s there if you catch it.

TK Maxx Does It Again

I’ve had a few good TK Maxx finds over the years.
Still remember picking up a pair of Reebok Pump Omni Zone 2s back in the day.

But this one…

Picked these up and it was a straight switch.
Four pairs of loafers sold just to make room.

£30 each, when they retail for £130.
Comfortable, great leather. Can’t really argue with that.

Some finds you rate.
Some finds reset the rotation.
