My interwoven identity

This cloth explores motherhood, identity and connection. I used my woven textile to represent my personal journey, with the fabric symbolising protection, culture and the bond between mother and child. The colours reflect my cultural influences from Portugal (origin), Wales (home) and Cabo Verde (heritage), bringing my heritage and experiences together into one piece. This moment brings my work to life, showing how my ideas exist in the textile and into real experience.
