Hi, I'm Deryn.
Founder of Howling Wolf.
ICF Coach, trauma-informed facilitator, culture strategist, and wise counsel to astute leaders.

My work lives at the intersection of personal growth and culture change.

My job is to help you build high-performing teams and extraordinary cultures by strengthening the often-overlooked foundation beneath them: relationships.

Drawing on more than twenty years of experience spanning the full spectrum of strategic HR, I partner with leaders and teams to strengthen trust, navigate complexity, and create cultures where people can shoot the lights out with ease and confidence.

My perspective is intuitive, practical, and often unexpected.
I can see and say what most will not - and teach you how to do the same.

Known for seeing both the human dynamics and the strategic context, I design bespoke interventions that result in meaningful and lasting change.

At the heart of my work is a fascination with the art and science of human relating. Whether facilitating difficult conversations, supporting leaders through change, or helping teams build greater trust and synergy, I create spaces where honesty, connection, and innovation flourish.
My work is bespoke, deeply relational, and grounded in the belief that the quality of our results is a function of the quality of our relationships - with ourselves, each other, and the systems we are part of.

$This was a very sensitive piece of work, and one I am extremely proud of. A moment when the rubber really hit the road and the values of everything Howling Wolf stands for, was put to the fiercest test. When a debate about the Middle East war broke out between a few juniors, it left a whole team fractured. I was asked to help restore connection and bring the culture back to its baseline. So I designed a one-day intervention focused on one thing: rebuilding the human-to-human relationships beneath the rupture. And we did it, without once raising the inflammatory topics. By the end of the day, harmony, respect and dignity had returned — with a real sense of joy and connection. The grey cloud lifted. The vibrant culture came home. This is the work we do inside of "The Pack" sessions. 🐺 If something is a little off with your team culture, let's talk. #culture #facilitation #leadership #teamtrust #howlingwolf by @_howlingwolf.co$

We partner with businesses to develop powerful leaders and extraordinary teams.

This is the work that happens off the field and out of the spotlight. This is the work that creates inexplicable advantage and creates legacy businesses.

If you're the kind of leader who knows the power of investing in your people, DM me. I'd love to support you in building high-performance at all levels. by @_howlingwolf.co

Leaders are far too often thinking about the discomfort of confronting a real problem, than thinking about the impact it has on the rest of the team, to do nothing.

And because the impact of doing nothing is intangible for a long time, one can get away with avoidance.

This always, always ends badly. Don't be that kind of leader. Learn the skills and make the time to deal with things early. It's always the cheaper and swifter option. by @_howlingwolf.co

Here's to the mavericks.
The brave-hearts.
The trail-blazers.

The ones who go first.
The ones who don't let fear stop them.
The ones who's voices spark fires of inspiration.

The ones who question the status quo and run from their comfort zones.
The ones who go deep within themselves to go far in the world.

The ones who run toward the unknown with a sword and a dream, and a pack they would do battle with and die for.

You cannot igore them because their mission ripples outwards like the clang of a bell, calling us in. They don't just change things, they change what becomes possible for their communities, teams and families.

And that is their greatest power.

Leadership doesn't start when you have followers, it starts when you have somewhere worth going. Somewhere you will walk to alone, for as long as it takes.

Leading from who you think you should be...

It works, for sure it works.

It works in the sense that you will have followers who do the same. It works in the sense that your team will only ever rise to the level of authenticity you allow yourself.

Finding the beat of your own drum is the first quest of a phenomenal leader. Not the beat of what is trending, or what is socially accepted to be "high-performance". Not the beat that comes with guaranteed validation.

Your beat. Your thoughts, your most productive times of the day. Your most unhinged values, your unorthodox approach, your unique creativity.
The parts you no longer hide but actively nurture and protect.

Leading from who you actually are...

It works, it works for sure.
The path less travelled perhaps, especially in spaces where conformity is rewarded.

But the choice is always yours, and THAT is the first lesson of leadership.

Some part of you is always going first...

Sometimes it's the fear, and sometimes it’s the desire.
Sometimes it's conscious, and often times its unconscious.
Sometimes it's the part that wants to get even, and sometimes it's the part that wants to keep the peace.

But some very intelligent part of you is always leading. With a very intelligent strategy to meet their very specific need.

The Art of Leadership is making sure that who goes first - is the most alive, most awake, most mature, most visionary, most courageous part of you.

Not the one afraid of failing, not the reactive brat, not the one who likes to blame or shame or criticize, and certainly not the critic.
But the one who can see and hold all of those, while staying true to the North Star.
You know the one.

Women, this one is for you.
Let's talk about you and your power.
Let's talk about the things you think and never say because the voice of second-guessing is bigger than the voice of conviction... Because the fear of upsetting others is greater than your belief in the transformative powers of the truth.

Let's talk about the extra nerve fibres you have between the left and right hemispheres of your brain, which allows for rapid fire integration of reason and intuition. Let's talk about the way that makes you know things without knowing how you know.

Let's talk about the ways you've been encouraged to stay small, stay silent, stay sweet, stay in your lane. And let's talk about the moment where you say enough is enough, because being free is a prize more valuable than staying safe.

This moment is not a small moment, it is a radical, courageous and brave AF moment because there is also a lot of value in safety. But I love this moment because its where a lot of women find me, and we begin walking the path from caged to free...from silent with your truth, to howling into the wind. by @_howlingwolf.co
