🏗️ Another big week in Arnprior!

Even with a short week, we made some serious progress on site.

Late last week, we placed and grouted our second-floor hollowcore slab, allowing us to begin erecting the second-floor cold-formed steel demising and exterior walls.

We also got all of our ground-floor windows blocked, installed, membraned, and protected, with spray foam starting today.

We’re excited to have both our drywall framing crew and mason mobilizing Monday. By the end of next week, we expect to have the third floor, additional windows, spray foam, stonework, and interior framing all well underway.

We’re especially excited about this build as it represents the third and final stage of our Sawmill Flats project, with completion and occupancy planned for fall 2027.

Stay tuned. This one is really starting to take shape!

Man, what a day! Obviously, I would have loved to turn on that final win light, but 7/8 A-B runs down the track is incredible in these conditions! We’ve got a consistent hot rod, and I can’t wait to get to Pomona! #ArizonaNats

Progress update from site 👊

This week we poured a 40-metre section of 4-metre-tall below-grade parking garage walls. With a lot of manpower and winter heat, we came back the next morning to a clean, mirror-like finish. The crew earned that one.

After 10 weeks of blasting and breaking rock, the demo phase is officially complete. Now we’re excavating further to open up more ground for our foundation and rebar teams.

Next up: drilling 13 rock anchors through the raft slabs, extending 8 metres down into bedrock to meet seismic requirements. These anchors essentially tie the building into the rock for the life of the structure — serious work that never gets seen once the project is finished.

As we continue pushing up foundation walls, we’ll move into waterproofing, backfilling, and preparing to bring services into the building.

The momentum is building here on Phase 3 at @sawmillflats in Arnprior. The fun is just getting started. taken in Arnprior, Ontario by @_hydeconstruction

Now that the holidays are officially over and I am back from vacation I can reveal the making of this multiple cornhole order!!

This was a custom order of 20 sets for one of Stratford Ontario's leading construction companies @_hydeconstruction
What an amazing employee gift idea!

After some thoughtful collaborating with the crew over at @_hydeconstruction we settled on the colours to be incorporated and the overall design... then got to work.

I decided to step it up a notch and construct the bases out of Ash not Pine. Over 1200 lineal feet to be exact...
Tops were made from the usual 3/4" Baltic Birch Ply.

After roughly 2600 feet of painters tape & 14 gallons of paint I had the final product near completion but still had work to do.

Affixing the logos was tricky and time consuming until I got a rhythm going.. ( dish soap was the secret ) Then it was onto the finish coats..
Logos provided by @kwcprinting

Thx to @renner_ontario & @walls_alive_ontario for the amazing outdoor water based finish. This finish provided a non yellowing component that was crucial for these boards as the majority was white.

And there ya have it.. GAME TIME
