'fly away' out now 🪽🪽🪽

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

fly away is here 🪽🪽🪽

Wrote this one late night after working my 9–5. I’d been digesting lyrics from songs like Dolly’s “9 to 5,” and other music that tries to capture the irony of the American dream and all the freedom it supposedly holds. I found myself yet again wondering why the version of adulthood I’d been sold could sometimes feel so confining.

NOT TO BE SO VERY SERIOUS (bc this song sure isn’t)… but wishing I could fly away was the only solution I had for my laundry list of problems that night.
And as songs do ~ the meaning has since evolved into so much more. Some days I want to fly away from a situation, some days from the version of me I created…

While I’d love to become an international spy, for now the need to imagine and soak up the feeling of escape on a weird day (or season) is what this song is for.
LOVE ya’s and thanks for ur ears. 🖤
