Officially approved to move into the FINAL step before becoming Dr. Christie. 🎓✨

This week I presented my dissertation proposal to the board and received approval to move forward with research that is deeply personal, purposeful, and bigger than me. I can’t wait to share the organization I’ve been blessed to partner with for this work.

Another year another BLESSING. I love this called life for so many reasons and this year was no different. I laughed, smiled, hugged, and loved SO HARD this year and I have God and yall to thank for that. It’s my prayer that I remain in good standing with Him through the work that I’m doing here with yall. Im excited to continue to build community and intentional moments for my family and friends.

My dad is the ONE OF ONE type of dad and person in so many people’s lives. I grew up with a dad who wasn’t a man of many words, but trust—when he did say something, I cried until next week. (My mama knew what she was doing LOL.) What I admire most is how deeply this man LOVES his family. He does not play about his kids, his parents, and don’t even get me started on them sisters 😩. If “going the extra mile” was a person, it would be MY DAD.

He’s not hard on me, but the expectations he carries for me speak louder than anything he could ever say. The relationship I have with my parents is something I find myself sitting in deep gratitude and reflection about, because it’s a blessing I pray everyone gets to experience. There ain’t a block my dad hasn’t spun about me, and I love that for me. A special bond between a dad and his only daughter. 🥹❤️🫶🏽 by @_iamdesmarie
