I am Peruvian, Jamaican, Hungarian. My mother is a second gen, with a Peruvian dad and a Hungarian mom, who decided to raise their children to speak English without ever losing their culture. I was blessed to grow up with all 3 of my cultures live and present.

Growing up my skin was darker so people didn’t believe I was Latina, it never phased me because I saw my culture very much con la comida, la música y más ✨✨

My family and I left Venezuela when I was 13. I spent my teenage years in Houston, TX and emigrated to Canada when I was just shy of 18. Growing up in three different countries in such a small period of time was challenging, specifically the culture shock, the language barrier, and the day-to-day customs of our current location, for which we had to adapt. My parents were very good at teaching me to work hard and apply myself into whatever I was doing, and to always look for the silver linings, no matter how tough the situation might be. Most importantly, they always encouraged me to find my passions and work on them.

Almost a decade after arriving in Canada, here I am. I’m a photographer, a digital marketer, and an entrepreneur. I have been lucky to follow my passions, pushing myself every day to be better. I owe that to how my parents raised me.

Born from a Dominican mother and an Italian father, the term “loud” is an understatement in my house. My mother was a dancer for hotels in the Dominican Republic, and met my father while he was on vacation. My father fell in love. It was love at first sight. Fast forward, here I am. A professional musician and music teacher, running an ad agency in digital audio media called Tritone Promotions.

My parents have raised me to be a hard-working and confident individual, who knows how to party. “Work first, then play” as my dad always says. My parents continue to shape who I am everyday. I am the only daughter of Cuban parents. I was born and raised in Cuba till I was 9. My dad passed away when I was 3. My mom made the decision she wanted a better life for me so she made her way to Canada. Cuban immigrants have a big risk when they leave Cuba which is only either by sea or by (selva) my mom decided to leave me behind in case she didn't make it, she took the only way out (By Sea). She was one of the lucky ones cause she made it. 3 years later I arrived to Canada on my birthday. It is 22 years later and my mom is very proud of her diva. Soy Dominicano. I left at 4years of age and came back at 14 years old. My childhood memories are Dominican Republic ones, which I miss with all my heart. I had a big backyard with many many fruits. We had coconut trees and mango trees with the BIG BIG ABNORMAL MANGOS not no lil regular size ting. My mom would make me barrer el patio ENTEROOOO and pick up toda las frutas podridas y cosas, ósea dejar el patio LIMPIO completamente.

My Latino roots don’t come from my blood but from the family that I’ve grown up with. I am German born and came alone with my father to Canada at 5 years old. We were alone for a couple years until my dad met my step-mom, who is a Latina from Veracruz, Mexico. My step-mom and her family took me and my dad in right away. They immediately saw me and treated me as family. I now have a half German and half Mexican little sister who I love very much. I’ve grown up around many Latinos, from my family, to family friends, to one of my best friends and his family. All these people have contributed into shaping me into the man that I am today. Soy Nasim, y soy una orgullosa Boricua pa’que tu lo sepas y soy una orgullosa Iraní también! Apenas hablaba cuando era una nena & por eso, tenía una voz muy ronca cuando hablé. Mi mamá estaba preocupada, así que me llevó al médico. La doctora le dijo que iba a hacer una cantante un día, y comencé a cantar cuando tenía cuatro años. Mi mamá me llevaba a la práctica del coro después de trabajar todo el día. Mi mamá y mi abuelita me criaron. Mi papá murió cuando yo era pequeña. Fue un momento difícil en mi vida. Me sentí como si tuviera que crecer rápido. Growing up in Toronto (Jane-Finch) a white boy in a minority neighborhood but the thing is I was the minority. Life wasn’t easy back then. My Latino friends/family took me in as one of their own made me a better human being. My best friends family took care of me helped shape me to into the man I am today. I am now a member of her family, married her sister and I have 5 beautiful Latino kids (4boys 1 girl) with my beautiful Ecuadorian wife. I now run a tree service business with my sons who are strong Latino men who I look up too. I am a proud white Latino who grew up with Latinos.
