I am incredibly proud to announce that I have successfully completed the YALI RLC West Africa fellowship! It has been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and leadership development. This program has transformed me into a more confident and impactful leader, equipping me with the skills and knowledge to make a positive change in my community.

I'm honored to share that I was awarded the prestigious YALI Star of Public Policy Management Award , recognizing my dedication to public policy and management.

Out of 120 exceptional young African leaders, I am humbled to be the only Ghanaian recipient of this award. This recognition inspires me to continue striving for excellence and creating a lasting impact in the field.

I am opening the floor.

GET TO KNOW DR. SAMANI is a series of open sessions on Microsoft Teams where we go beyond the slogans and get into the 4WARD Policy—my vision for a more visible, influential and impactful GAMLS.

Two hours. Belt by belt. Every region gets a room.

We begin this Sunday, 4 October, 6pm–8pm, with the Northern Belt: Northern, Savannah, North East, Upper East and Upper West.

It is official.

The Electoral Commission has published the Notice of Poll, and I have been cleared to contest the office of General Secretary of GAMLS.

I am number 4 on the ballot.

To everyone who nominated me, seconded me and signed for me across the regions, thank you.

To my colleagues also contesting this office, I wish you a clean and serious contest. This profession is better for having a real choice.

And to every member: please register for Congress. Only registered delegates vote on 6 November.

It’s time!

Today I am declaring my intention to contest the office of General Secretary of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists for the 2026 to 2028 term.

The General Secretary runs the machinery of an association: the communication, the records, the coordination, the follow-through. Run it well and the profession is heard. Run it slowly and it is not.

I have spent almost a decade at the bench, alongside a background in broadcast journalism, health communication and public advocacy for medical laboratory scientists. I am offering both in service of the welfare, visibility and influence of every member, from the teaching hospitals to the district laboratories upcountry.

We cannot be indispensable in the clinical setting and invisible at the table.
