1 Day to go until ROLL THE BEATS!

We asked ILYCIT for his thoughts about his journey into DJing, a mistake he made in his early gigs and some thoughts he has for those looking to get involved.

ILYCIT was our last winner of the Open Decks Comp at Roll The Beats in June, and we've just announced the next SHIFT BATTLEFIELD gig featuring him on the lineup alongside the legend "3 PHASE" fka "DJ NOS".

Registrations start at 6:45pm, come down with your USB, Headphones and your 15min mix.

Just $5 entry, and the DJs competing will be offered a free drink. by @_ilycit

Monday Mix: VOL041 - ILYCIT!

@_ilycit

Originally from Whangarei, now based in Christchurch, this legend is carving out a fresh path in the local scene.
Lover of all things Bass, Trap, Dubstep and a bit of DnB here and there, he’s put together a high energy ix for your Monday Drive home.

Bryden was the winner of our RTB Open Decks comp in June, and will be playing at a yet to be announced SHIFT… and so we thought we’d get him involved with this week’s Monday Mix!

From Bryden:
I started djing in 2022 because of my best mate who was doing it. My advice to anyone wanting to get into it is to literally buy a cheap set of decks, download serato and play at every party you go to 😂 thats how i was able to find a passion for it and turn it into more than just a party trick 🔥
Best word of advice: surround yourself with likeminded people and learn from anyone and everyone you can.

Tuesday Tune - Smooth Operator - SCHMUX

ODC in Association with Turnt Up Tuesdays at Galaxy Bar!

This one is courtesy of ILYCIT!

————
ILYCIT, AKA Bryden Morris has hit the local scene with a smash!

He was the winner of our June RTB Open Decks, and previously also took part in Dig the Drop.

As a significant force in the Whangarei scene before moving down to Ōtautahi, he is excited to get involved with the local scene, meet people and pass on some of his knowledge!

He’s picked an absolute stonker - Smooth Operator by SCHMUX.

He says:
I love this tune as it blends all my favourite wubs into one.

Turnt Up is on tonight at Galaxy! Come down and have a jam - they do sign-ups from 5:45pm. by @_ilycit

AND THE WINNER OF ROLL THE BEATS IS…..

ILYCIT!
@_ilycit

Big congrats everyone that came down and gave it a crack on Friday. It was an epic night, and some great talent on display.

Bryden brought a varied mix of Dubstep, Trap, DnB and tied it all together with Finesse!

Originally from Whangārei, he's already been been tearing it up in the local scene here in Ōtautahi.
Such a friendly dude and always keen to spit a yarn, make sure you say hi if you see him around!

Honourable mention to @nebula.nz who also look part and is featured on Tonight’s Tune of the Week. by @_ilycit
