The friendship and care l’ve received from the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated over the years has deeply influenced me to sought after this platform of Miss Omega Psi Phi, and I could not be prouder to be an extension of the outstanding Omicron Delta Chapter, as their Inaugural Queen.

I’ve always been taken care of by you all, and for that, this is more than a title to me and I will uphold this legacy of your chapter with the same amount of tender care.

OD, you all will always be my family.
Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift will continue on and after my reign, in all I do and influence others to follow the same principles.
Thank you for crowning me QUEen of the goOD 💜👸🏾💛

Δ. Devotion 🔺

Tau Rho, you made this girl into a woman. A chapter with history, accomplishments, and grit! From my prophytes, to my sisters, down to my neos, you all remind me constantly of the essence of Delta Business. We put in the work and make the loudest noise on and off the yard, there is nothing greater than knowing we have all pledged allegiance to being devoted to a cause bigger than our own. Movers & Shakers —> THE REALEST #LLTP🐘

Σ. Strong Emotion 🔺

To the 35 women known as DeSTined R35urrection, I could say thank you a billion times over and it still wouldn’t compare to truly how grateful my heart is to call you my sisters, my family. The village we have created and bond we share, even through the changes of life — the ups and the downs, is purely magical. From strangers to never wanting to be without you all is a gift I know is only from God himself. The love I have for each of you is never ever ending, for this is truly a lifetime commitment. R.O.D ❤️

To my neos, R.A32 & S6, I am overjoyed and beyond proud to call you mine. Thank you for making me a big sister. Thank you for reminding me of the purity of our sweet Delta. Watching you all grow into tremendous Delta Women, being by your side gives me so much pride to know that I was able to bear witness to your journey to come this far only by your strength together as a sisterhood, not individually on your own. Never give up and stay committed to serving and passing the wisdom. I got y’all forever. Down to ride ANYtime. AOML 🤍

Θ. Thankful That We All Know Thee 🔺

Forever indebted to Thee Dear Old Delta. My trailblazing founders set the ultimate standard that has been an inspiration to me well before these letters became mine. A commitment to sisterhood, public service, scholarship AND social action in the thick of 1913, where such tenacity to make an impactful change had not yet been accomplished in the way my 22 could do it! Every Delta woman I have ever encountered has done nothing but pour into me and remind me why I set out to join the ranks of the women in the Greatest Sorority on earth. A new legacy has been created. One of my own that can never be denied or destroyed.

A year ago today, I became, “The Grad.”
I walked across the stage. Took the photos. Said thank you to all the congrats. But deep inside, I felt like I couldn’t truly celebrate myself. I knew there were still so many lingering feelings that wouldn’t allow me to fully bask in what was supposed to be the greatest accomplishment yet in my life. Imposter syndrome was at an all time high. Who told this young girl from the Westside of Atlanta she could escape and go graduate from the prestigious University of Miami, full tuition scholarship & earn accolades all 4 years? Why did I deserve to say I “graduated” when I still had research to finalize and loose ends to tie up academically? What is accomplishable at all about going from high school valedictorian with over a million dollars in scholarships, to making my first ever C in a college course where my peers that didn’t look like me were excelling effortlessly? How could I keep the pride in my own merit to get here when I wear the school’s apparel with school pride but strangers amount me as a merely a “fan”, as if this little black girl couldn’t possibley be a student? How could I be happy and proud of myself when my lost loved ones couldn’t join me physically, only spiritually, and my friends that were too young to leave this earth didn’t even make it to their own college graduation?

I robbed myself of the joys. I didn’t live in the moment. Somehow, I forgot that although there was heartbreak, mistakes, loss, and obstacles along the way to this milestone, my God never failed to give me more triumph than tribulations! “After all, I am the hope & dream of the slave”, I deserve to be celebrated.

So after a year, I’ve told myself it’s too late to be joyous. Too late to be celebrated. Too late to share the memories…
But continued reflection actually said, “pop it anyway!” 🎓
