BunkerBauer is back with the seventy-fifth podcast, and this time we have Copenhagen-based indebraendt with a special mix he gathered purely with his own unreleased productions. “Testing the boundaries of processes like grief, sorrow and alienation: how these, too, can be sources of a calm vitality - even of ecstasy: this has been the nourishment from which these sounds have grown.Expect hazy, midnight atmospheres laden with rhythms that coil like snakes in the grass - slowly morphing into nocturnally psychodelic devil-may-dare dance floor frenzies as the mix progresses. Imagine you meet Satan and he is on acid… ;)Life is no easy task, and the world puts us up to it: pushes us up against the flames. For this month’s addition we invited sonic sorcerer Egregore who has been a prime and primal inspiration from the start. As a matter of fact: he was one of the precursors that introduced me to this little underground phenomenon of ours. To me he functions as some mysterious beacon of clandestine energy; a sonar which points the way of my musical awareness - and yet I have no idea how and whereto. It seems to me that I have always hit upon him and reacquainted myself with his energy at quite distinct and decisive moments on my musical path - like an archeologist pushing his shovel accidentally into the unknown only then to find what he knows through artefacts yet to be deciphered. By the ways of the Earth we find our path. In that sense: he’s been a sort of mentor to me - or, let’s say, a shaman leading me through rites of initiation.And that is what he delivers here: sounds most primal and ferocious wound together by an untamed, unpredictable energy; sounds riding high upon unwavering waves of wild heat; sounds so iconoclastic that they are bound to tie your heartstrings together and play them as if they were merely a lute. After a long delay and some issues with the upload: ‘Senere Invites’ is back with an episode fuelled by the groovy rawness of ages past and Transire’s fidelity to his musical vision: digging into the underground of Goa and Trance.Transire delivers a mix equivalent to Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of the Species’. It is truly a bold masterclass in how the naissance of dance music lies in the groove of simple elements. It is a ‘back to the basics’ of sorts - but yet there is nothing basic about it. The humble simplicities of any origin can hardly be regarded simply as primitive, but always has the glow of that primordial beauty we call ‘essence’.The layers are intricate and the track selection flows like that river called ‘time’: ebb and flow effortlessly moving from one moment to the next - like pebbles in still water where one wave rides upon the next in an infinite array of intricacies. Smoothly the past becomes the present: the nucleus of moments remaining at the core of the time that follows. Much like the thread that weaved itself to become the ‘start’ onwards to an end, so this mix unfolds undeterred in a continuum where the head of Trance is the start and the heart of music is its end.Thank you Transire for swimming along in our little pond of time. For this month’s episode of ‘Senere Invites’ we had our beautiful friend Astral Bandit on for a dance with the decks ✨Halden is, in my humble opinion, at the forefront of recent developments in the bubbling neo-trance movement - which is reshaping the notion of a ‘dancefloor’ and carving out new caves for what syntethically shaped expression entails.And, yet, the purpose of all creative expression remains the same; a song or a beat is always sung in the name of mending the heart and to lend a voice to the unspoken as well as the unutterable… even if it is but for a moment.For that is the sweet aching of all things beautiful: their ephemeral belonging among the things that spur to defy the seeming infinity of pain that the world succumbs to: it is, indeed, but for a moment And yet we find solace in our sweetest moments in the direst of times. After a long delay our guest of last month finally arrived safely, and most soundly on AAJA radio ✨Our good friend Transki is a legend of the modern Trance Underground, and a fiercely independent artist to boot. Here is an expression that does not confine itself to fads and fashions, but, instead, rallies to a sense of an eclecticism of the individual: all in the name of a Trance that harkens back to its original inception in the 90’s - in the truest sense, then, since it seems that it never left; that the hypnosis remained: changed and yet the same.And this is exactly what both this mix of his and his label (Mystic Research) boldly portrays. As I see it: the mysticism of what once was: the inherent nostalgia that lies at the heart of Trance’s melodicism. A past that perhaps never was is brought to the forefront of the musically invested mind - and, in that sense, is just as fresh, invigorating and playful as the reminiscence of childhood where all was fantasy; where everything was exactly as it should be because it had not fully ‘been’. In other words: the innocence of the first moment’s honesty becomes the ‘moment of trance’ and allows us to stay there - yet but for a moment. And we are here for it with Transki’s addition to our AAJA show!Thank you so much Transki: for the many lovely moments on the dance floor that we shared with your expression, and your wonderfully amiable support of all our musical endeavours. For this month’s episode of ‘Senere Invites’ we invited Afgang who has been a dear friend, musical sparring partner and who is, simply put, a wonderfully considerate human being. It doesn’t hurt that he is a massively skilled producer to boot - except in the sense that sometimes his music hits such peak velocity that it’s painful how good it is. His melodicism and atmospheres is apex emotive material: perfect for the therapeutic dance floors that he himself seeks to create.For this month’s episode he curated some deeply warm ear candy that’ll melt your brain into a sugary mush. The percussion is not meant to beat you into attentiveness, but rather to softly massage your ear drums into a steady rhythm.
