I was feeling the pioneer spirit a couple weeks ago and decided to go capture the area where the first European settlers decided to set up shop in Montgomery County. William Offield settled along a tributary of Sugar Creek called Offield Creek and the rest is history! They came to this area in 1821 and I would have loved to seen the back then with all the old growth forests and uncleared land! Im often envious of the first people’s nations w enjoyed this wilderness before the white man came and claimed it for themselves; clearing millions of acres fields for monocultured row crops.
