POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Julianna Taveras-Garcia. I am a third-year music performance major at Montclair State University, and my primary focus of study is classical flute. The flute has been an essential part of my life for over 10 years, and it has been a dream to be able to major in something that I am so passionate about.

I am currently looking to purchase a new flute, because I have outgrown the one I have been using for the last 5 years. I am looking to continue my performance studies in graduate school, so this purchase is very important. The flutes I am looking at are unfortunately very expensive for my family and me, ranging from about $10k to $15k. I am lucky enough to have found a flute maker who will let me pay for my new flute through installments, but this purchase will also be a little difficult for my family and me. They are doing all that they can to help my sister and me get through our remaining three semesters of our undergraduate music degrees. Our bills are a little high this semester, so this new purchase will make my financial situation more difficult.

Buying a new instrument is always tough, especially for students who do not come from high-income households. With this fundraiser, the money I receive will go directly toward this purchase and ease my parents’ stress, even a little bit.

Any donation or share is sincerely and incredibly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share the link to this GoFundMe with your friends and family. I am already incredibly thankful for you all taking the time to notice this fundraiser. I would love to continue my studies in music performance, but I can’t do it without your help. The link to the fundraiser will be in my bio and my story. Thank you so much for supporting my family and me and for supporting the future of my career. by @_iridscnt
