From November 25th to December 10th, millions around the world are observing the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global movement dedicated to raising awareness, challenging harmful norms, and demanding safety and dignity for women and girls.

I had the privilege of leading my team under @1inclusion_4all , with guidance from my advocacy mummy 😅😅 @officialseunfunmi to a school in Kaduna State. There, we engaged the students in meaningful conversations about gender-based violence, its types, and key prevention strategies.

We also discussed this year’s theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls,” a message that strongly resonates with the realities of today’s digital world.

We were also glad to provide essential materials to support their well-being.

Together, we can create a world that is safer and better for everyone.

💙 THE IYANU COMMUNITY SCHOOL OUTREACH

Theme: Your Future Starts Today.

Our first-ever school outreach took us to Government Secondary School, Ungwan Boro, Kaduna State, where we engaged young boys in meaningful conversations about education, drug abuse, peer pressure, positive decision-making, personal responsibility, and respect for others, especially girls and women.

The goal was to encourage the boys to make informed choices, resist harmful influences, take their education seriously, and understand that true strength lies in discipline, responsibility, and respect for others, regardless of gender.

Because every boy deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, lead, and thrive, while becoming a positive influence in his community.

I still don’t have enough words for how good God has been to me. 🥹🤍

“What shall I return to the LORD for all his goodness to me?” — Psalm 116:12 (NIV)

I’ve spent some time reflecting on the past year, and honestly, I can only say God has been good to me.

This past year has been one of my best years yet, not because everything was perfect, but because of the growth, the lessons, and the grace that carried me through it all.

And now, as I step into another year, my heart is simply full.

What shall I return to the LORD for all his goodness to me?

My answer is gratitude. Always. 🤍

BIG THINGS HAPPEN WHEN PURPOSE MEETS PARTNERSHIP. 🤝💙

When I was thinking about the establishment of The Iyanu Community @the_iyanu_community one thing was clear to me from the very beginning: meaningful impact cannot happen in isolation. To achieve our goals, we must build strong partnerships with stakeholders, NGOs, government agencies, individuals, and institutions that share our commitment to empowering young people.

Today, I’m pleased to share a promising step in that direction: a strategic discussion and emerging collaboration with Salisu Aliyu Babangida @el_salis_aliyu , President of the National Association of Kaduna State Students (NAKASS), representing the interests of Kaduna State students.

Salisu is a brother and a friend, and our conversation centred on issues that matter deeply to young people, including student welfare and representation, education advocacy, engagement with government, and opportunities to create meaningful change.

These conversations align closely with the work we are doing at The Iyanu Community @the_iyanu_community particularly following the approval of our School Outreach Initiative by the Kaduna State Ministry of Education.

We explored ideas, exchanged perspectives, and brainstormed projects that The Iyanu Community and the Office of the NAKASS President could pursue together, with the aim of creating more opportunities for students and young people across Kaduna State, with the potential to extend our impact across Nigeria.

There is so much to look forward to, and we are excited about what these conversations could lead to. The goal is simple: to turn conversations into collaborations, ideas into action, and opportunities into impact.

It was also lovely connecting with Ibrahim Maria @imk_clothing1 and Taimullah @taims_mk and a pleasure seeing our big brother, @bukhar_yahya

What started as an idea on paper is now approved to reach thousands of students. 💙

According to DNEMIS, Kaduna State has 2,418,794 public school learners across 5,551 public schools. That represents millions of young minds and, ultimately, a bright future ahead of us.

But the real question is: How well, and how intentionally, are we preparing and preserving that future for tomorrow?

That is part of the question The Iyanu Community is here to help answer.

On 9 September 2026, The Iyanu Community received official approval from the Kaduna State Ministry of Education for the implementation of our School Outreach Initiative across secondary schools in Kaduna State.

Through this initiative, we hope to engage students through meaningful conversations around education, leadership, self-discovery, career guidance, personal development, goal setting, communication skills, and gender equality.

This approval is not just a milestone; it is a responsibility.

We are grateful to the Kaduna State Ministry of Education for granting approval for the initiative, and we look forward to working with schools and relevant stakeholders as we begin implementation.
