Unbound XL, 2025: I came to challenge myself, set results aside, and embrace the parts of adventure riding that I love so much.359 miles later — hotdogs were eaten, tears of joy were shed, and there were so, so many hugs. The words of encouragement, the strangers who became dear friends, and the incredible and unwavering spirit of gravel… I’m still buzzing from the magic of it all. Only one person can win — but everyone can show up, dig deep, embark on an ultimate personal adventure, embrace community, and leave so proud. That’s what makes events like XL so special, and that’s personally what I think gravel is all about❤️📸 @caroline_dezie by @_izabella.s

Around this time last week, I made my way back to @districtbicycles after wrapping up the 300-mile Mega Mid South course.Like most things, this adventure was made possible by the kindness and support of an incredible community.From the sweet family who answered my Facebook Marketplace post for a place to stay in Stillwater, to Hannah and Robb who helped me up after a tumble (RIP Pringles) and stuck with me through the highs and lows — Mega Mid South was yet another reminder that it’s the people who make the effort possible.More to come on this season as a whole soon 🚲 What a special and impactful year it’s been. by @_izabella.s

Five days, 350+ miles, countless new friends, and countless reminders that the moments we choose to uplift others become the memories we treasure the most. Community, kindness, and companionship are at the heart of why I love this sport, and exactly the reason why I felt so at home at the @oregontrail_gravelgrinder. After about 15 hours of riding and lots of hiking, I pulled out of Unbound XL. I can’t quite sum up in words the disappointment and frustration I’ve been sitting with. However, throughout it all, I’ve been surrounded by so much love. While I’m crushed to not achieve a goal I’ve been working hard for, what hurts the most is feeling like I let people down. None of the lessons learned will be taken for granted, and this disappointment is fuel for all that lies ahead. Thank you all again for the care, kindness, and endless support. Finishing the XL last year and the journey to the startline this year would not have been possible without this incredible community, and it’s because of you all that I’m already looking ahead to the next challenge with excitement and gratitude. All of the details leading to my choice to pull out of the race are on the last slide, but first, a few snapshots from the journey that I’m trying hard not to let the disappointment overshadow. New kit, same incredible team🫶🔥 2026 marks year two on Easton Overland, and I keep finding myself reflecting on how grateful I am to be part of this crew. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to show me the ropes, embrace my many quirks, and continuously inspire me to keep showing up.
