-Man what a ride it’s been. I have to thank God as this seemed unattainable at one point in life. I’m from an area in Baltimore City where only 50 percent of kids graduated from my high school and only 2 percent graduate with a 4 year degree. There’s plenty of times when I thought of giving up but I wanted to prove to myself as well as the boys back home that something like this is achievable for people where we are from. To my parents I love you dearly the sacrifices you made for me I could never repay you all enough for them. To my brothers and my friends you all have been there for me at my highest and lowest moments I wouldn’t be here without you. Lastly to the boys back home never give up hope and never be afraid of the odds. Chin up chest out always.

Dearly beloved🥀,

-It’s been 9 long years. This sport taught me many life lessons that I’m forever thankful for. Many smiles and tears as this sport I had nothing but love for, turned into a love hate relationship. I want to thank you Brida. I came to you a young kid who only wanted to get faster for football. Who knew I would eventually grow to love track more than that. You helped me navigate through life and through track brought me some of my closest friends.

I also wanted thank Coach Ozzie. You never gave up on me. You were always there for me through my hardest times. Even when others told you I was a “problem child”, or I wouldn’t listen, you never let that deter you from coaching me. You brought the best out of me and had me doing things I didn’t think I could do. I wish we had more time together as coach and athlete, but I’m forever grateful for you.

Lastly, I wanted to say I’m grateful for my teammates I met along the way. Many of you hold a special place in my heart. This sport has put me through a lot, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Much love.
