A little over a week ago, my fellow graduates and I presented our graduation exhibition, the NOW SHOW. During this exhibition, I had the opportunity to show my graduation film, The Bar, to hundreds of visitors.

Alongside experiencing my film and the accompanying exhibition, visitors were given the opportunity to draw their own frame and become part of a collaborative animation. I created a 40-frame animation and printed each frame separately using a Risograph printer. Every visitor could draw on one of the frames, becoming part of the final animation while experiencing, on a small scale, the handmade process behind my graduation film. The response to this was so much better than expected, almost 80 different people colored a frame and we managed to get 2 loops of this walk cycle completed. 🎉🕺

For The Bar, I created hundreds of risoprinted frames, which I coloured by hand and scanned back into the computer to create the final animation. I used the same technique for this animation, allowing visitors to become part of the handmade process that is at the core of my graduation film.

Expo - Graphic Novel “Het Land achter de Kaart” [“The Land beyond the Map”] 3/3

Sept 2024 – Jan 2025

In early 2025, I completed the Graphic Novel minor at @st_joost in Breda. The program focused on the full process of making a graphic novel, from concept and storytelling to inking and final layout.

On January 27 and 28, my fellow minor students and I had the opportunity to host an exhibition of our graphic novels. Parents, teachers, guest lecturers who returned, students, and professionals from the field came to see our work.

This exposition marked the end of this semester ❤️

All the lines were drawn by hand using ink and colored pencil, while the colors were added digitally. 🖋️✍🏻

I rarely post my commercial work. So I thought I’d share a project with you.
•
This is a character design for the clothingbrand Fidelice
•
I got asked to design two ‘friends’ that my client can convey short, illustrated messages with. He provided me with a rough sketch with the basics of the designs (e.g. the cross-eyes and the color scheme).
My client works in the business sector themselves, so most of the designs are related to building the right mindset for making money.
•
I worked on “normal” designs and “special edition” designs, they are printed on t-shirts and hoodies.

Complete animation ⚠️ WARNING LOUD NOISE ⚠️

In april 2024 I started an animation project. Not just a normal project, but something personal that was really on my mind at the time.
A couple weeks before starting this project a bomb was placed in a truck close to my home, but that did not stop at one explosion. No less than 11 explosions in trucks, garages and houses kept me on my guard for weeks. (Small- and failed ones not counted)

To process this situation I made an animation about it.
