Dear A&T,

4 years ago, I made the decision to move 1000 miles away from all of my family and the only home I’ve ever known to attend college. I hoped and prayed it was the right decision. Today, I know it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Tomorrow, I’ll be graduating from the #1 Public HBCU in the nation. Every step of this journey has shaped me into the woman I am today.

Thank you, A&T, for becoming my home away from home. Thank you for the lessons, the memories, the challenges, the growth, and the people who became family along the way. I will forever carry the pride, love, and experiences this university has given me.

In just three days, four years of late nights, early mornings, countless hours in the library, exams, and moments of doubt will all come full circle. Every challenge has shaped this journey and pushed me to grow into who I am today.

Thank you to the college that nurtured my growth and supported my passion for kinesiology. I’m grateful for the foundation you’ve given me as I step forward into what comes next.

Oh to be an Alpha Woman…

to my soror mommy, thank you for showing me what it means to be a true woman of sophistication and grace. you set a standard and i will work forever and a day to make you proud. you started the legacy and it’s been one of my greatest honors to be able to continue it.

to my girLS, thank you for showing me there really is no other like our sisterhood. as an only child, i could have never imagined how i could grow to love a group of girls so deeply. yall have held me up and supported me in more ways than you know, and i thank yall. from every laugh, cry, smile, and everything in between, it has grown our bond and it will be something i cherish for the rest of my life.

lastly, to the Alpha Phi chapter, thank you for challenging me and fostering my growth as a woman. thank you for showing me what genuine sisterhood feels like.
