Dear 28: you both started & ended on absolutely *horrible* notes like genuinely wtf 🥴 But it wasn’t all bad of course🙂 On a positive note: 28 was the year I fiercely stood up for myself in many situations & it was the year I decided to be less concerned with others’ expectations of me. It was also the year I started writing, drawing, & baking again after a long time away. So thank you, 28, for the adventures, laughter, reigniting my creativity/soul, & for reminding me of my strength …but also, gtfo byeeeee 👋🏻

Dear 29: I’ve had enough “lessons” 😅 please bring only blessings with you thankssss 🥑 (gonna use my magical bday wish to wish for an end to the war so it better stop now 🫵🏻) by @_jazz97__

👩🏻‍🍳 On the menu:

1. Walnut & rosewater atayef
2. Mini cheesecakes (2 flavours: strawberry pistachio + dulce de leche / chocolate)
3. Spicy salmon + garlic broccoli + lemon + mint rice
4. Traditional Middle Eastern sweet breads/cookies (kaak)
5. Pot roast with veggies, mashed potatoes, & gravy
6. Mixed fruit cake (apple + pear + banana + dates) with no added sugars & high protein

Thailand: Thank you for reminding me of the importance of taking care of my own heart. Thank you for bringing my creativity back to life. & thank you for filling my heart with happy nostalgia by being everything that I love and miss of Lebanon 💜

The craziest thing about this trip is I had 2 cousins & 1 uncle (living in different families/countries) also randomly show up to Thailand unplanned at the same time as me — so I got to see family throughout my entire trip, which was incredibly special 🥹

Total hours of travel = 63h & it was definitely worth it by @_jazz97__

Season 27 🎬

26 was 1 of the best years. Living with my grandma, meeting my idol Shania Twain (after she pulled me up on stage…literal dream moment), graduating top 15% of my program with my 2nd uni degree, being a bridesmaid for the 1st time, coming out to my parents… 26 gave me a lot of memories, joy, adventure, strength, endurance, trial, & hope. I look forward to seeing what 27 has in store for me 🥂

Lessons I learned from 24:

1. Do the little things that bring you joy, simply because they bring you joy — & do them often (no need to be an expert). For me, that’s baking, reading, writing, watching the sky, & photography 📸 👩🏻‍🍳

2. Laughter really is the best medicine.

3. Life 👏🏻 isn’t 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 race 👏🏻

4. Silence is underrated.

24 was the year my life changed *drastically*. I went back to school for another degree. I moved in with my 93-year-old grandma after my grandpa died. My career plan and friend group completely changed. & most importantly, I started the journey towards rediscovering myself.

Here’s to turning a quarter of a century old & whatever lessons that will have in store 🥂 by @_jazz97__
