September is my birthday month, but it is more importantly Suicide Prevention Month. One person every 40 seconds takes there own life. That is nearly 2000 people every single day. Me myself, I have struggled with suicide my whole life, I have cut myself and drank myself into a stupor hoping that I wouldn't live to see tomorrow. But I am still here, and you are still here. Life is a precious thing. Life is not a privilege and not something you earn. Life is something you are given and deserve, everyone deserves to live. I deserve to live, and you deserve to live. Suicide is something I hold deeply close to my heart. I have lost many good people to it. If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, please call 9-8-8 and talk to someone you love. Loving my job so far! EXCEPT the fact that I work rotating shifts. 1 week 3pm-11pm and then on week 11pm-7am is horrible. Always changing my sleep schedule is super rough. BUT I got a raise!!! Ive made so many new friends through my coworkers. I finally feel as if I have a purpose in life, and that I am making a difference in my community. Building relationships with all the residents at work has made me a much happier person, knowing that I have made an impact on there lives. We are so fucking back. I have graduated college. And boy what a journey it has been for me. Ups and downs, highs and lows and a ton of coffee and dedication. I never thought I would have gone to college at the age I did, but here I am. 21 years old with a career helping those in need.

To send off this wonderful achievement, here's a quote I thought about through my journey by none other than the absolute goat Dale Cooper.

"Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."
