I SACRIFICED EVERYTHING FOR THIS MISSION WITH GOD AS MY WITNESS I HAD TO GO OFF GRID AND WENT MISSING. THE SECLUSION, THE STRESS, THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, THE STUDY GROUPS, THE HIGH CAFFEINE INTAKE, and THE CONSISTENT REMINDER THAT I CHOSE THIS PATH AND THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. THERE WAS MOMENTS OF DOUBT, THERE WERE FREQUENT MOMENTS OF EXHAUSTION, AND PERIODS OF WEAKNESS WHERE I THOUGHT ABOUT QUITTING. HOWEVER, PURPOSE DOESN'T NEGOTIATE WITH COMFORT. MY FAMILY DIDNT RAISE A PUNK AND I PROMISED MYSELF IM FINISHING EVERYTHING I START. I WAS CALLED SELFISH, SELF ABSORBED, and etc. BUT GOD MADE ME UNWAVERING IN MY FAITH AND PURPOSE. EVERY OUNCE OF PRESSURE WAS THE PRICE OF GROWTH NO MATTER WHAT I LOSS . BECAUSE AT THE END I GAINED EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE.WE TOOK AN OATH TODAY. Walked into New Orleans with the etiquette of L.A. yellin!!!Grateful to serve as Class President of my MOD and thankful for another powerful year with @edicarlholmes. Your leadership has given me the tools to grow professionally and personally. I’ve had the honor of building fellowship with over 300 firefighters, networking with purpose, and—most importantly—engaging with chiefs not just as supervisors, but as peers and mentors. What is your why? Their smiles...What is your purpose? To be the light, the motivation they need to surpass me, and to be the dependable resource they need. My design was created to be the inspiration of change through community outreach. GOD granted me This job/career and gave me that opportunity to reach back and pay it forward.Id get on my soap box and ramble more but Thank You GOD for giving me this day, for protecting me, for loving me, and for giving me the opportunities to effect change.
