“If we don’t take care of our bodies, where will we live?” by @_joaqa

Classic photos of my beautiful mother circa late 60’s & 70’s.

The fashion, the people in the photos, I ask questions about all of it and I end up hearing some amazing stories.

Anything and everything about my sister and I, we’ve always got it from our mama. 📸

It was a year ago I watched these same individuals on the internet while streaming J’s epic Oakland Boiler Room set, and I thought, 🤔💭 “How can I take my career in this direction?” Fast forward to now and I’m on stage with them, celebrating what hard work can do if you have faith and put your best foot forward. It’s been a while since I’ve felt rewarded for something I’m passionate about and what a blessing it is to enjoy this moment with such an incredible team. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions thats included the lows of a tragedy and the highs that come with meeting people whose careers I’ve followed for years. A heartfelt thank you to every person I’ve met making waves in this community doin it for the culture. 🙏🏼😌 For anyone who’s in their comfort zone trying to figure out their next move: Shoot your shot. This one was for @doit4furl 🌹❤️

In what ended up being the greatest audible ever called, my man @franboogie put the @redbullmusic3style 🌎🏆 @djjespinosa , @goldieawards winner @milesmedina , & the greatest turntablist ever @djqbert on the spot for a back to back to back that will go down in DJ history... #playwithmusic by @_joaqa

🤔💭 This is my favorite 5 mins of the function mainly because there’s so much to unpack.

We have @milesmedina bestowing upon these milennials the unholy sounds from the founding fathers of parental advisory. Then there’s @franboogie in peak form activating his hips.

s/o to @sanjosefoos & the @recroomsj for lettin these Titos run wild. 🤘🏼 taken in Rec Room San Jose by @_joaqa

Truly honored to have been chosen for this. Such an inspiring and humble dude aside from being able to tell some of the greatest stories a photographer ever told. About skating, Jordan, Kobe, Lebron... @atibaphoto has seen it all. I left that experience inspired, renewed, and ambitious as ever.

Thank you Atiba for being so selfless in your journey to help unlock others passions. Im ready to take my love for creating to the next level as a result of the evening you provided. 🙏🏼 #AtibaCreativeClass sponsored by @adidasoriginals taken in HVW8 Art + Design Gallery by @_joaqa
