Today we do more than celebrate—we remember.
We remember the hands that built, the voices that rose, the hearts that hoped.
We are the living legacy of warriors, healers, artists, and dreamers.
From the rhythm of isiXhosa praise to the warmth of Afrikaans hospitality,
From the wisdom of elders to the fire of youth—our heritage is alive in us.
Let us walk boldly in our roots,
Speak proudly in our mother tongues,
And serve with the spirit of Ubuntu—I am because we are.
Heritage is not just history. It is our compass, our calling, our collective heartbeat.
So today, we honour the past, ignite the present, and shape the future.
We are South Africa. We are the story.
