An ode to Davina 🫶🏼 8,568 miles and 15 countries later — Davina did it! Our tiny home for 6 weeks and witness to some of the best moments of our lives.We really pushed the limits of how low a car can ride across the wildest of terrain and put far too much faith in the roof rack (watch it get worse 😂)Can you believe this little car helped raise about 8 times what she’s worth for local Cornish charities??! Kazakhstan (Aral > Almaty) - Joe, soloWell, where do I bledy begin? The desert had taken a toll on both myself and the motorbike, I’d come off and so had the front mudguard and number plate, the exhaust had detached and I was exhausted. Not to mention the two oil leaks, terrible idling, oil caked rear wheel, gashed tyre, 10% braking capacity, loose clutch cable, tight chain, bent front end, and fuel dribbling out the carburettor. Thank god there was a car wash ready at the end with a bar of soap and low-pressure, cold water hose?! As much as I wanted to ditch the bike, blow it up and bury it under the sand, then hop in the car and salvage the remaining two weeks of the trip …. I had to deal with the situation as an adult, I had to get from Aral to Almaty and hand it over officially.It was pretty straightforward, as in ride straight forward for 1,700km on boring Kazakh highways. The most interesting part of my days was trying to get to the next town before the 39 degree heat cooked my brain inside the helmet, so I’d set off as early as 1am to ride before sunrise. I was lucky to meet some extremely generous people along the way, the standout feature of our time in Kazakhstan was the kindness of the people toward us. I was given water, food, rides across town all for exchange of a smile and gesticulated conversation. There were some cool sights to see in each of the towns I stopped in, although once you’ve seen the big boy pole in Baku, a flaccid flag pales in comparison. The bar for my giant flag standards has certainly been raised this trip.Finally, at long last, I was able to donate the motorbike in Almaty. Thankfully a very simple process at the end of a 10,000km journey from Kernow to Kazakhstan that pushed me to realise the limit of what I’m willing to do for the sake of my own stubbornness. I could now catch a flight to reunite with the others and help get Davina over the line. by @_joepayne_

Aaaaaand we’re off! Davina’s looking better than ever while the bike limped to the start line just in time for the send off party on Saturday night - nothing wrong with it mind, except for the ass riding it (Joe’s).Davina is now clocking in at 2,374 miles from Kernow and all you beauties are just ahead of us with £2644 raised for our charities. Are you really gonna let ol’ dav beat you to 3000?We’ll share some more updates from our first week ASAP - turns out this massive challenge is actually quite feckin’ challenging?! 🫵 WE NEED YOU 🫵You’ve met the borderline-derelict, disaster-in-a-box, tin-can-on-wheels, dirty Davina, time to meet the mighty mule that’s going to march onward, picking up the pieces and munching miles quicker than you can say “Geddon my beaudy!”Davina may be Matt’s first vehicle (bleugh) but this beast is Joe’s 10th in 10 years 💪 It’s all about experience, making mistakes and learning, right?With no mirrors, zero wind deflection, a rock solid seat, one dim-as-hell headlight (and rider) duct tape indicators and no bledy MOT… you could say this bike is a proper catch, just what you’d want for a long ol’ commute to Kazakhstan 👏The ONLY (🤫) problem with this bike is there’s no name locked in yet, we’ve heard shouts for Mule, Gerald and Bikey McBikeface… but we’re curious what you guys would call it?Get involved and drop a comment below, tell us what we should call this 2016 Herald Classic!#kernowtokazakhstan #mongolrally by @_joepayne_

Since filming our intro video, Davina has suffered an exhaust-ectomy and decided she also wants a new clutch.On the bright side the @theaa_uk recovery guy gave Matt his number in case we run into issues en route. We suspect he’ll be less willing to give us mechanical advice at 3am from halfway around the world but it’s the thought that counts, eh? While Davina’s in for her “upgrades”, we thought we’d show a little BTS of what it was really like filming our intro video.#kernowtokazakhstan #mongolrally by @_joepayne_
