One of my meditations of late has been about having an awe of God.

There are times after studying God’s Word, I just sit and think about His works, who He is, and I find myself in awe of such a great God.

Being in wonder, I believe, should be a regular prayer for every believer: May I never lose my awe of You.

Not just being in awe of His goodness to us or the things He does, but being in awe of God Himself.

I think it’s such a beautiful place to be. It keeps us coming back to Him. It keeps us yearning for Him. It keeps us longing for Him.

May I never become too familiar with God that I lose my wonder of Him.
May you never become too familiar with God.

One of the ways we get intimate with God is through faith.

Do you know what it means to trust God even when He hasn’t given you what you’re trusting Him for yet?

A few days ago, I was on my way to work and the road was blocked. Like a little child, I simply asked God, “Lord, please send a maruwa my way.” 😂

One came, but I didn’t enter because of the price. So I waited.

Interestingly, a few days before this, during Sunday School, we had learnt about the immanence of God that God is present and involved in our lives. I had also been teaching about how God actually listens when we speak to Him.

So there I was, waiting.

Then a car came by. It was someone I knew who used to take the same bus route with us during NYSC, and he offered me a ride.

Right there in that car, it dawned on me:

When I speak, God hears.

His “yes” is a response.
His “no” is a response.
Sometimes, even the waiting is a response.

But beyond asking God for things, there is something powerful about having a consciousness of God,being aware that He is present, that He hears, and that He is involved.

That consciousness strengthens our faith.

Because faith is not just believing that God can answer.
It is trusting Him because you know He hears you. by @_justfara

I was thinking about how we can worship God intentionally, and something dawned on me: God’s Word is a medium of worship.

Follow me.

When you hear songs like “God of Abraham,you're the God of Covenant,” it’s easy to get emotional. But there is a difference when you actually know the God you are singing about.

Read about Abraham. See the promises God made to him, the waiting, the impossible moments, and how God remained faithful.
God had a proven track record of keeping His word!

Then when you sing, “God of Abraham,” you’re not just singing words,you have understanding behind them.

The Word of God is spirit and life. The more you know God through His Word, the more intentional your worship becomes. You may even stop seeing songs as “old” or “new,” because a familiar song can become fresh when your revelation of God deepens.

Dear believer, learn to study God’s Word. Yes, your Bible. Carry it. Read it. Read it daily. Meditate on it.
