Hi there 👋 I'm Kendra, and welcome to K.Media. There's a lot of new faces here and some familiar ones, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I've been enjoying photography for well over a decade and a half, but up until a few years ago, it was strictly a hobby. Working as a full-time nurse and college teacher, especially through the pandemic, there was a new need and desire to get out into nature to reset my soul. During that time, my love for photography grew and became a social media experiment over on my outdoors account @hike_and_seek__ . There, I began working with unique accommodations, adventure, and in the tourism sector to create beautiful visuals suited for social media. With some success on that account, my love for photography grew into a love for videography as well. This last year, I volunteered as social media manager for my son's local hockey team, and that's when things really came to life as I discovered how much I loved creating media for others in a variety of ways. With a few pushes from some people in my life, I made the decision to start my own media business. I started K.Media as a way to bring stunning visuals through photography and videography to local businesses, sports teams and individuals who are looking to elevate their social media presence or brand presentation or simply have beautiful memories for years to come. I always had lots of questions about the time I dedicated to the team.... The late nights editing, constant planning and trading shifts to show up for the boys, for the games even when my son wasnt playing. Hanging out quietly at the glass, watching the warmups and eavesdropping on the pregame dressing room banter. Knowing the pregame and win songs by heart that only get played when things are going well..... or not so well. Subtle pats on the back when they needed it and knowing when to give them space. The "Hi Kendras" shouted down the hallways (my favorite part of game day). The answer was always simple..... this was my team too. And there was never a moment where I didnt light up with pride when I spoke of them. Being with a team this close, at ice level, in the tunnel before the game and between periods, seeing them through my lens - its a whole other level of 'watching hockey'. I got to see them like most parents dont get the chance to and truthfully, they got to see themselves differently too, through my work. Capturing the emotions of hockey for this team over the last few years, and especially the 13 graduates, has been the greatest joy... The thanks-yous coming in mean more to me than any amount of money from a gig could. Thank you, Storm. Nothing will ever duplicate this. 🌩 by @_k.media_

Fourteen years of lacing skates tighter than their thoughts, of learning how to fall and get back up without saying a word. This game was never loud for them. It lived in the quiet moments and the breath before stepping onto the ice, the sound of blades carving into fresh frost, the stillness behind the glass. Yesterday they rested their heads here a little longer. Eyes closed. Not to shut it out, but to take it in. Every shift, every mistake, every small, unnoticed victory that somehow meant everything. They didn’t always say much, but hockey heard them anyways. Before their last game, they weren't thinking about the end... they just had the feeling of being there, one more time.
