THIS ONE’S GONNA HURT ME
A set about loss. Not about who we’ve lost, but the feeling of losing the relationships you’ve held close to you. Whether it be distance or disagreements, life changes that you undergo after losing those you’ve cherished can be unbearable. After a certain point, those who have lost will begin to fear the breaking point. “How much more can I take before it’s too much for me and I give up?
This is a set dedicated to, hopefully, never finding out.

About UnderScore:
A year ago, I took Hyphen to IDL. We placed 2nd. I was upset. If you know me, you’d know that I’m not the best person lol. I’m selfish and emotional, and I never learned what it was like to actually put someone before me. I don’t know what these kids did, but I really started to understand protective love. Maybe it’s because, when I was their age on GRaVy, I just thought I was the shit and was overall not a great person. Something about having kids myself, makes me feel that if I can point them in the right path, I’ll right my wrongs from years ago.
Coming back to IDL a year later, with some kids who had never competed before, was a complete recontextualizing of Hyphen’s stint. The 2nd place feels so sweet and so rewarding. It’s one of my most treasured accomplishments of my life. Maybe it’s more-so the team being on stage rather than the trophy… not sure, I’ll figure it out later. We gotta prep for Resurgence. by @_kaicameron_

UNDERSCORE UPDATE 3.0 AUDITIONS (18 and under)

When: Sunday, October 4
Where: Orange, CA
$20 for class + audition. If you are just taking class, it will still be $20.

Time and Location will be sent after interest form has been filled.

The application and interest form is linked in our bio! Application must be printed and brought to auditions. Interest link must be filled out asap for headcount purposes.

Video auditions will be allowed. Check the bottom of our application for more information.

Make up auditions will be the following Sunday 10/11 (more information to come).

Today marks the 10-Year Anniversary of the “Catch Me Outside” girl on the Mr. Phil show, so here’s the stupidest idea I’ve ever had. It somehow got greenlit by: 1. My crewmates 2. Multiple choreographers that had 0 to gain by being in this 3. VIBE — the most prestigious competition in our community? This, ladies and gentlemen, theydies and gentlethem, is what happens when an 18-year-old kid doesn’t get told “NO”. Monstrosity on the biggest stage in this half of the globe .

Did I know how to edit at the time? No. Did I know what a LAV was? NOO. Did I edit the whole MIX on PREMIERE? Yes. Did we film these inserts the DAY OF VIBE, edit it while DOORS OPENED, and turn in our video/mix while the first act was performing? YES. Did I let any of this stop me? Yeah kinda, it slowed me down quite a lot lol taken in Catch Me Outside by @_kaicameron_

What at honor it was to be in the @officialhhi 25th anniversary performance! On that stage was 25-years of immensely important dancers to the lineage of HHI — and also me! We finally got the IDCO x Elektrobotz x Miniotics collab no one asked for!!
