money will come & go but i’ll never be 27 again, frolicking in the rainforest with my loves, foraging for wild mushrooms, hiking to natural hot springs & recharging in the woods with sunshine rays that shimmer amongst some of the biggest trees in the world 🧚🏼‍♀️☔️🌈🚐🌲🎣🏔️ by @_kaitlynlyons

our first backpacking adventure into the wilderness ⛰️we set out with the goal of hiking to our favorite remote hot spring but sadly we didn’t quite make it. after massive flooding last year, the road we normally take is shut down. turning what would usually be an easy drive and a short hike turned into a 45 mile round trip from the closure. we made it about 25 miles total before realizing we weren’t prepared for the extra distance. we knew it would be an adventure but we didn’t expect to come across about eight different washouts along the way, which meant having to go around each one and made the journey so much longer than we originally planned. the road was completely shut down so we had the entire stretch of road of 35 miles completely to ourselves and made the whole experience feel even more wild and peaceful. we eventually ran out of food and decided it was time to head back but at least we tried! being out there for a few days with nothing but a little backpack and the wilderness all to ourselves was such an amazing feeling. even though we didn’t make it to the hot spring this time, the adventure was still so worth it. we’re definitely going to try again before the snow comes! 🌲🥾 taken in Darrington, Washington by @_kaitlynlyons
