In your 20s, there will be an offer that makes complete sense on paper.

Got a return offer to investment banking after Wharton. Everyone assumed I was taking it.

I didn’t. Not because banking is wrong: it’s a great path. But I had a goal with a fixed deadline, and I needed a schedule that gave me a real shot at it.

Will it work out? I genuinely don’t know. But I’d rather find out than spend the rest of my life wondering.

If someone in your life needs to hear this, send it their way.

Work in mergers and acquisitions or chase your Olympic dreams?

That’s the dilemma facing @WhartonUndergrad @_Kampton_Kam (W’26) as he prepares to graduate next week. Kampton, a high jumper on the @PennTrack team, is currently weighing his choices of accepting a job offer in finance or pursuing the chance to join @TeamSingapore at the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.

Kampton’s athletic career is impressive: He’s a First Team All-American, has broken the Singapore National Record six times, is a back-to-back @PennRelays champion, and is a three-time @IvyLeague Conference champion.

In addition to his athletic prowess, Kampton is also, in true Wharton fashion, very good at finance. While practicing for more than three hours a day, managing coursework, and breaking records, he also found time to prepare for a career in investment banking and holds a return offer for a job in M&A after completing a summer internship last year.

Inspired by Kampton’s determination to follow his dreams, some faculty have helped him explore whether there is a potential path that challenges the notion that he must choose between the two.

“I have this institution backing me,” he said. “My friends here, the faculty here: They’re all seeing me chasing this dream, and then also helping me. It’s a privilege to represent Wharton.” taken in The Wharton School by @_kampton_kam

Kampton Kam makes history! 💫

The 24-year-old has cleared 2.25m, setting a new Singapore Men’s Outdoor High Jump National Record at the 2025 South Florida Invitational on 11 April.

He surpasses the long standing mark of 2.22m, held by Wong Yew Tong since the 1995 SEA Games - a record 6 years older than Kampton himself.

A 3cm breakthrough, years in the making.

Big congratulations to Kampton and his coaches Joseph Klim and Yu Long Nyu - what a moment!

Full report soon.
