Thanks for 12 years, LA.

Originally, I did not want to come here. I moved to LA for college, and my goal was to get out as fast as I could. There was no perceived version of my future where I would stay for over a decade, yet the city seemed to keep me captive.

Adjusting to LA took years. The friction I felt against this city was like sandpaper against the rough edges of my identity. But over time, as I bumped into it again and again, the core of myself began to emerge. Somewhere between the potholes, parking tickets, and crazy drivers (do you see a theme), I learned to discover beauty, joy, and life. Through the beach sunsets, small venue concerts, and all my favorite coffee shops, I began to find hints of a beautiful future life as I learned to create it in my present.

You could argue that I could have found this anywhere, and maybe that’s true. But that’s not my story. My story with LA is a slow burn, enemies-to-friends kind of story. I’m grateful for the journey, and the challenge, all 12 years of it.

Thanks, LA, for teaching me how to stay, and for showing me that you can find new beauty in unexpected places.

I’ll be back to defrost. ☀️

hello from my new home!

For the last year or so, I’ve been preparing my application for business school. It’s been a long time coming - I first considered it in 2022, made the decision in 2024, and took it seriously in 2025. This fall, I’ll officially be enrolling at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management for a 2-year MBA program.

This whole process has been incredibly humbling and refining. There have been moments of elation, and moments of despair. It’s required more discipline than pretty much anything else in my life. But it’s also taught me to keep my hopes up, because you may end up getting exactly what you wished for.

I officially make the move in about 5 weeks, which will wrap up 12 years in LA (more on that later). It’s bittersweet and so exciting. I’m mostly just grateful to have made it this far.
