Reflecting on my journey fills me with an immense amount of gratitude and emotion. Initially torn between accepting offers and pursuing my dream to play basketball or just focusing on academics at Sacramento State, I decided to follow through with my plan of focusing on my academics. Departing from my identity as an athlete was scary, yet committing to my studies proved to be the best decision I could have made for myself as a young adult. These past four years have been nothing short of a challenge, yet each hurdle served to fortify my faith, unveil my identity beyond being an athlete, help me find my people, and help develop my leadership skills both inside and outside of the classroom, especially within the black community. Trusting in God’s divine guidance and timing proved to be essential to my personal growth, and I remain forever indebted for the invaluable lessons I have learned along the way.

Thank you to my family for consistently supporting me, my friends for uplifting me, and God for never giving up on me even when I questioned him! 🤍

Storms pass, but purpose remains.

The path was never straight, but the destination was always clear.

Standing firmly in my purpose, lifted by sisterhood, and driven by service. Delta Sigma Theta was always the only way.

To my line sisters,
The bond we’ve nurtured is truly one of a kind. Our journey and the lessons we’ve learned along the way will stay with me forever.

To my prophytes,
I am incredibly grateful for your support and guidance. Through your dedication and leadership, you paved a path rooted in true sisterhood and excellence. Thank you for pouring into me and for setting a standard that will continue to guide me throughout my life.
