<~One shot~>
.
.
Sometimes there’s will be this one shot during a shoot that you know if I miss this , it would not probably never happen again .
.
This to me is one of those pictures and I think I kinda nailed it…
.
There’s this flock of birds that fly in when I’m shooting that day .
At first they are just on the water and stone in the picture then it just happen , they take wings and fly !
When i see that through my viewfinder on my camera I’m like I need to get this shot !
Change the camera into burst mode adjust a few settings and I did get what I want…
.
Hope you guys like it …

<~The halfway point~>
.
.
#hellofrom japan 🇯🇵 .
.
I’m actually quite familiar with this place.
I been here a couple of times and everytime it’s different so I kinda take a picture here whenever I’m in Kyoto .
This one is right in between when the street light are still on but the sky have light up just enough to see the pagoda.
.
The in between & the halfway point in life can be beautiful as well.
.
I’m actually still missing one picture from this place tho the one with cherry blossom.
I know most of the travel addicts(like myself) must be almost going crazy right now but let all still stay home till the situation got better before we fly again .

Woke up at 4.30am and walked through freezing weather for this. 🔥🍁🍂

The only red 'sky' I ever want. Mount Fuji with the maple leaves "burning" from the reflection of the sunrise on the water. When @_kingwong_ says he knows of a spot, he brings you to THE spot.

Today mark my 38 around the sun...
My grandmother passed this year the last of my grandparents, the final root of that ancient tree I grew beneath. Her hands that once held mine are now memory.

I thought I was prepared. But to stand upon her body that is another story. She seemed so much smaller than I imagined. So thin. I didn’t see her last breath. A door I arrived too late to walk through.

Loss clarifies things. It shows you who truly stands beside you and who was only passing through. Real friends reach you even when busy. They find a way.

I’ve realised I have enough. True friends. The kind who would fly halfway around the world just to spend time with me. I am rich in that.

So I’ve stepped back from the rest. Friendships go both ways. If it’s one-sided, let it be. I’ve stopped chasing what doesn’t chase me back.

Time now moves in cycles, like the moon across the night. My presence has waned, like the moon before it grows full again. The rising, the shining
it all needed to pause. Not because I forgot how to glow, but because even the sky must hold darkness to appreciate the light.
I walk a dimmer path for now.

But if your night grows dark, if you feel lost... call my name into the silence. I will hear it. I will come. We will watch the moon together until it rises again.

Hold close what remains.
Speak their names into the night.

<~The Red Rider~>
.
Some days, the universe listens…
.
.
I got my shot that morning a gentle sunrise painting Wat Arun in gold.
Later, I found myself resting in my hotel room with no plans, just a feeling. I wanted something dramatic, something that felt like more than just a postcard.
.
A quick search led me to a spot a little way out. But distance is just a number when you have time and a gut feeling. So I went.
.
The air was thick, heavy with that crazy Bangkok humidity. I set up my tripod and waited, watching the city blur past in streaks of light people walking, cars zooming by. It was beautiful, but it wasn’t it. The colour was wrong. The moment was missing.
.
And then, as if on cue, he appeared. A motorbiker in a flash of red a hoodie cutting through the warm night like a pulse. I snapped the shutter. Holy shit. This was it.
.
Some days are just easy when the guy upstairs is listening.
.
.
I know not everyone reads the words behind the image. To some, it’s just a nice picture, maybe even a spark of inspiration to visit the place and that’s okay.
.
But I’ve always believed that a photo’s true heartbeat is in its backstory. The struggle, the miracle, the crazy thing that happened right before the click. That’s how I remember.
.
So I write. And if you’re reading this, you’re not just reading a caption.
You’re looking through a keyhole into a moment ,a viewpoint of what King saw and felt at that exact point in time.
.
In a world racing towards AI, emails, and simplified everything, I get a little scared. Life is complicated, messy, and beautiful because of it. I don’t want to lose that. I don’t want to wake up one day only able to write in bullet points. I fear that somehow.
.
So thank you for letting me be complicated.
Thank you for reading till the end.
It makes me feel like, in this fast-paced world,
someone is still trying to understand.
.
With gratitude,
King. taken in Bangkok by @_kingwong_

<~Temperamental~>
.
Nature has many faces,I have learned that her most beautiful ones are often hidden behind grey veils.
.
Two winters ago in Toyama, I found myself standing in weather I usually despise a cold, relentless mix of snow and rain.
I had already failed that morning. Overslept. Missed sunrise.
The kind of start that makes you want to pack it in and try again another day.
.
But instinct told me to go anyway.
.
My bro @william_kohwj and I took a bus to the very end of its route, deep into the mountains where the roads turned frozen and the world went quiet.
We walked for half an hour along the shoulder, not sure we were heading the right way, trusting only a pin I had saved on my map months before.
.
We found the spot a small opening beneath a shelter by the road, overlooking a river that disappeared into thick fog.
The ferry schedule online said service was stopped.
The sky was a sealed envelope of grey.
Everything said go home…
No hope for that vision of yours…
.
But we waited.
.
I checked the weather app and told my bro, “There’s a window. One hour. If the fog lifts and a ferry comes, we have our shot.”
It sounded foolish even as I said it…
.
Then we heard it. Strange music drifting up from the river, though we could see nothing but white. As the sound grew closer, a silhouette emerged from the fog a ferry, very much alive, cutting through the mist like a dream we had both imagined separately.
.
The ferry passed. The fog lifted. The sun even appeared for a brief, cruel moment when no boat was there.
We waited longer.
Just as doubt crept back in, the music returned, this time everything aligned the ferry, the bridge, the waves crashing behind, the fog hanging just right , my camera clicking away.
.
That day, I showed my bro how I work.
Not with perfect plans or golden light,
but with stubborn patience and a little faith in grey skies.
Nature is temperamental, but if you wait long enough,
she always shows you one of her faces… taken in 庄川峽 by @_kingwong_

<~Moment like this~>
.
.
There is a particular silence that exists only at the top of a frozen mountain ,a silence so complete you can hear your own heartbeat asking you why you’re still standing there.
.
Zao, Yamagata. A world erased to white.
.
The thermometer at the building read -12°C,
but the wind had its own agenda, carving the temperature into something far more brutal.
Up on that rooftop, I stood alone as the afternoon dissolved into twilight.
My hair crystallized. Ice claimed my jacket in tiny, frozen victories.
Around me, others would emerge, only to be driven back inside by a wind that seemed personally offended by their presence.
.
But something held me there. A gut feeling, irrational and warm in my chest despite the cold
a whisper that the grey would part, that color would bleed through the canvas.
.
I watched my watch more than the horizon.
Sunset came and went without ceremony.
No colors. No mercy.
Five more minutes, I lied to myself.
.
Then the announcement:
last cable car. Weather closing in (in Japanese)
.
I packed my tripod, camera in gloved hands, the timer in my heart already counting down to surrender. And then
.
The wind.
.
Not the same wind that had been assaulting us all afternoon. This was different.
This was purpose. It tore through the fog like a curtain, and there a seam of gold Warm light, alive and impossible, pouring through the gap to set the landscape ablaze.
.
For 10 seconds. Maybe 20.
.
I got one frame. Just one.
.
When the clouds sealed themselves again, I stood there shouting into empty air, checking my camera LCD like a crazy person , because surely that hadn’t just happened.
Surely the cold was making me hallucinate.
.
.
Running for the last cable car, I wasn’t even last
the platform staff closed the gate behind me. The wind was so fierce our car stalled mid-air, suspended between worlds, as if the mountain itself was deciding whether to let us go.
.
Back in town, frozen fingers fumbling with an SD card, I waited for the screen to load.
Only when the image appeared could I finally breathe.

<~Something about patience~>
.
.
Some days begin with a prayer for clarity and end with a reminder that magic operates on its own timeline.
.
I remember that day in Japan vividly. I had arrived at Ise Shrine heavy-hearted carrying an unexplained weight and a bit of down on my luck energy that seemed to cling to my skin. I come for a cleanse, offered my prayer at the most powerful shrine in Japan and by some quiet grace, managed to witness the priests performing their daily ritual a moment of such ancient precision it felt like watching time fold in on itself.
.
With the afternoon still early and my soul feeling a little lighter, I took a bus to Meoto Iwa. Honestly? It was smaller and closer to shore than I ever imagined.
I took the standard tourist shots, the ones everyone takes. But I noticed a group of Japanese photographers lingering, their massive tripods pointed toward the horizon like sentinels. It puzzled me.
.
But I had nowhere to be, and I’ve always been a bit of a busybody when it comes to secrets.
.
So I waited with them.
.
The sunset came a modest affair, just a blush of color that faded quickly.
Still, they stayed.
So I stayed, too.
They must have know something that I don’t …
.
Then, one of them shouted, “Detekita!” (It’s out!).
.
They weren’t waiting for the sun to set.
They were waiting for the moon to rise.
Right between the sacred rocks.
.
And that is when the sky turned into this the moon painted in molten orange, the heavens bleeding into shades of purple mauve.
The guy upstairs decided to show off, and I just happened to be standing in the right place, at the right time, with nothing left to do but witness.
.
Sometimes the best shots aren’t the ones you plan.
They’re the ones you wait for.

<~The Unseen Alignment~>
.
.
Some dreams are measured not in pixels, but in patience.
For six years, I have held a single, crystalline vision in my heart , the Onnaiwa rock at daybreak, the Tateyama mountains in silent glory, a veil of morning mist, and birds tracing the sky’s first breath.
.
.
Every year ,I return to the Amaharashi coast, a pilgrim to possibility.
They say the alignment I seek is a prayer too specific ,the perfect sunrise, the clear peaks, the mist, the wings all at once.
For nature to conspire so precisely is, they gently insist, asking the impossible.
.
And for six years, impossibility has shown me many faces.
I have witnessed dazzling dawns where the mountains hid behind clouds like shy giants.
I have seen Tateyama’s jagged spine sharp against a plain, mistless blue.
Always, one essential piece absent, as if the universe itself were teaching me the beauty of fragments.
.
This year, the lesson turned fierce. A snowstorm descended. The world dissolved into a howling white.
Temperatures plunged below zero, waves roared like beasts, and the train lines trembled on the edge of cancellation. Every alert flashed a warning for me to stay away.
.
Yet, what is a dream if not a light we carry into the storm?
So like a crazy fool I went.
Into the blinding swirl, toward the furious sea.
Not for a photograph, but for the promise ,the stubborn, quiet faith that some journeys are about the seeking as much as the finding.
The image remains uncaptured. But my resolve has only been refined, frame by frame, year by year, by all the magnificent “not yets.”
.
The perfect moment is still out there, waiting in some future dawn. And I will be there to meet it, year after year, until every element of the dream finally says yes to me…

Until then, I am learning the profound poetry of almost… taken in 雨晴海岸 by @_kingwong_

<~Tram of Toyama ~>
.
.
In the gentle hush of falling snow, the tram glides like a silent promise through the quiet streets of Toyama.
.
.
Sometimes, with nothing but the warmth of a coat and a wandering heart, I step aboard and let the city carry me where it will.
For years, I’ve traveled these tracks, yet never paused to capture the humble tram that has witnessed so many of my journeys until that day.
Each winter, I return to this peaceful town, where the sushi melts like a memory and the snow blankets the world in soft, poetic stillness.
Here, amidst the calm,
I collect not just photos,
but moments that breathe.

~Unexpected~>
.
.
Not every sunrise we chase reveals its light.
We can’t change the weather…
.
.
I remember the cold like a held breath.
A fierce front had hushed Japan beneath a deep, relentless snow the kind that turns the world both fragile and still.
I was returning, empty-handed from a sunrise that never broke, feeling the weight of the chill and my own weariness.
At a nameless station where trains changed and journeys paused, I lifted my eyes and there it was, waiting…
A scene composed by chance the white of snowfall holding the dark geometry of the platform in a soft balance.
And then before I know it a figure entered a man with an umbrella, walking slowly, steadily toward the far end, as if moving from one silence into another.
My camera found its way to my hands without thought, an act of pure recognition
this was the moment I was meant to receive.
.
What we seek we do not always find.
But sometimes, what finds us stays forever
a gentle reminder that even in the cold,
even in the waiting,
there is a kind of sacred alignment… taken in Japan by @_kingwong_
