After the Rain

I’ve been incredibly obsessed with painting and drawing beads lately, and while looking for inspiration for a new piece, I stumbled upon a photo of a wet spider web. Everything just clicked from there.

It’s been raining so much lately, so this piece feels a little symbolic too.

Shrimp at Mama’s House 🦐

Growing up, Sundays meant church, lunch at my grandparents’ house, and a giant tub of shrimp that everyone would dig into. We’d end up with piles of shells and shrimpy smelling hands. >_<

We don’t have Sundays like that anymore. Our families have gotten smaller, some have moved away, and some can’t join us anymore.

I’ve been thinking about these little childhood memories lately. It’s funny how the simplest moments can mean so much. Life is short, so I’m trying to cherish them while I can.
