I never imagined I’d have to write another goodbye, especially so soon.
The hardest part about losing you is knowing I didn’t just lose my dog, I lost a piece of my childhood. Thank you for every tail wag at the door, every pool day, every hug you gave me when I was sad, and every moment that made our house feel like home.
The thing I’ve realized is that you could never live without your best friend. I truly believe a part of you left the day Lily said goodbye. Something inside you broke that day, and it was your heart.
It brings me peace knowing you’re running free again, side by side with your best friend, with a heart that’s finally whole again.
When you see her... tell her we said hello for us.
Until we meet again.
Love you forever, Dakota 🤍 by @_laniford_
