how lucky am i to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

the lyric by olivia dean, “catches your eye, blink, and then it’s gone,” is exactly how this year felt. so much growth, so many people, so many moments, all passing faster than i ever expected.

south carolina fbla, serving as your state secretary has been one of the greatest honors of my life. this chapter gave me so much more than a title, it gave me growth, memories, and people who changed me forever.

i would like to thank some people who have done exactly that:

to God, thank You for every opportunity and every moment of strength. You have shown me so many answered prayers, and for that i am beyond grateful.

to my family, thank you for your constant love. thank you for the rides, the sacrifices, and the “i believe in you” before every competition.

to mr. williams and ms. grant, thank you for your support and guidance. to my first adviser, ms. johnson, words cannot describe how much you’ve changed my life just by signing me up sophomore year.

to mr. jones and mrs. wilbur-hemphill, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes for our members.

to miss. yuxi shao, thank you for your wisdom and constant support.

to blake, thank you for your leadership, it was an honor to serve alongside you.

to zahira, i am so proud of you and can’t wait to see you lead as state president.

to susan, thank you for your kindness and steady presence.

to aiden, thank you for being you, and congrats on being re-elected as state vp of cs.

to aaron, thank you and i’m so excited to see you serve as state vp of ce.

to cami, blain, amy, and reema, thank you for everything you gave as ppc.
blain, congratulations on being elected state sec, and amy, congratulations on being elected as state vp of communications.

to my friends, thank you for making this experience so special. i will miss our comp prep sessions @ 12 AM, the laughs in between the stress, and the feeling of knowing we were all in it together.

maybe stories don’t end, they just begin again.

so i guess what i’m trying to say is, this isn’t a goodbye, simply a “see you later.”
