I was in the middle of trapping , road running, in an ungodly relationship,addicted to smoking gas daily, & just got accepted into a modeling agency for major worldwide rappers and celebrity music videos when I decided to surrender my life to Christ. Sounds like perfect timing, right? 💀😭After seeing miracles in the name of Jesus like handicap people get up out of wheelchairs and start walking , lifelong blindness healed, cancer “unexplainably” healed after prayer, etc., & had multiple personal encounters with the holy spirit I could no longer know Jesus was real but not live like it. I wanted things my way and thought I was in too deep - BUT GOD. 🩷By giving the Lord my fresh yes every day + experiencing the power and strength of the holy spirit Jesus led me one step at a time to quit every self destructive addiction, relationship, and behavior. The more I come to know the love of Christ, and invite the holy spirit to live inside of my soul and body, the more the devotion and willingness to obey grows inside of me. It’s not something that’s forced it’s a reciprocity of love and inhabitation by a spirit - the holy spirit. Once God locked in my mind understanding of my identity I locked down my obedience to morals , principles , and standards because i’m a WOMAN of Christ and daughter of THE king - i’m not for sale, monetization, or for the use of anyone’s instant gratification/self pleasure; and my purpose isn’t to walk in darkness nor dishonesty. I live by the code because of my love, devotion, and fear of GOD. Religion might try to change people from the outside to in , but Jesus changes people from the inside out. His love doesn’t change by our level of imperfectness. Thank you Jesus for sparing me in life or death situations, for replacing my heart fueled by anger with a heart of compassion, transforming me with Your unfailing love and faithfulness , and dying on the cross. Going out every weekend feeling like you’re celebrating something when in reality it’s for absolutely nothing is so normalized now and used to be what so many of my weekends looked like. Now in Christ I celebrate every day and every weekend, and my celebration has truth, purpose, and joy behind it. Instead of leaving feeling exhausted, you leave feeling fulfilled. Instead of waking up the next day feeling like garbage, you wake up with clarity. Instead of meeting people who share your vices and don’t have your best interest in mind, you meet people who love you and want to see you win. Through the transformative journey of yielding your heart piece by piece to Jesus , you become a person who bears all of these fruits of the Spirit and more. In turn , it naturally puts you in a position where you’re a better spouse , a better daughter/son, a better mother/father, a better friend , a better person for this world and others around you. It’s not a list of things to do or to try to be , it’s something that happens naturally once you let God work in your life.
