wdym this is what my morning coffee looked like just a couple of weeks ago 🥲
somewhere along the coast of Naples, Italy, we brought our freshly brewed moka pot to the beach before the sun even came over & enjoyed our morning espresso here, with a perfect view of Mount Vesuvius 🌋
A slow, picturesque & perfect morning coffee if you ask me - just how it should be 🫶🏻 you don’t need a fancy hotel (or even a table 😂) to make the small moments feel unforgettable ✨

mango chilli refresher 🌶️🥭

homemade mango chilli syrup, sparkling water & lime! 🍋‍🟩
syrup recipe:
🥭 1 cup of mango
🌶️ 3 small chillis with a few of the seeds still on them, depending on how much heat you can handle
🍬 1 cup of sugar
💧 1 cup of water
put it altogether in a pan and bring to a boil until the sugar is completely dissolved! Mush mango and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
Remove from the stove & let it cool, then strain into a bottle or jar! You can use the mango & chilli pulp as mango chilli jam for a really fun addition to your cheese board 🤩

Now for the drink, rim your glass with salt, chilli & lime zest!
lots of ice, pour over some of that chilli mango syrup & top with sparkling water. A squeeze of lime & some slices finish off this drink really well!

It’s Heritage Day back home in South Africa! 🇿🇦✨

Since moving to Portugal, we always have friends & family bring us back goodies from South Africa, including the infamous @bakersbiscuits tennis biscuits & nestle’s peppermint crisp chocolate!!
So today I’m celebrating heritage day with a South African classic turned into a coffee: enter the Peppermint Crisp Tart Iced Latte.
For anyone who hasn’t been lucky enough to try the classic dessert, it’s an elite South African staple layered with Tennis biscuits, caramel treat, whipped cream, & crushed Peppermint Crisp 🇿🇦

How to make the Peppermint Crisp Tart Iced Latte:
☕️ Pull a double shot of espresso directly over 2-3 pieces of Peppermint Crisp, stirring until completely melted.
🥛 Fill a glass with ice & your choice of milk, then pour the mint-chocolate espresso over top.
🍮 Top it with caramel cold foam.
🍫 Finish with crushed Tennis biscuits & chunky Peppermint Crisp crumbs

Obviously I know you cannot find tennis biscuits & peppermint crisp in Europe but a coconut biscuit & mint aero will give a similar flavour 🌿 but really this one is for my South Africans!! 🫶🏻 enjoy my friends!!
