A reminder that Sudan cannot become another forgotten crisis
For more than two years, civilians in Sudan have endured war, mass displacement, hunger, sexual violence, and unimaginable loss. Families are being torn apart while the world looks away.
Behind every statistic is a person, someone’s mother, someone’s child, someone’s father, someone’s friend
A person whose life has been forever changed.

Donate if you can and repost if you can. Your support can help provide food, clean water, medical care, shelter, and lifesaving assistance to people affected by this crisis.

Every donation counts. Every voice counts.
Stand with Sudan. Speak about Sudan. Donate to Sudan.

“My role as a rising physician is not to only benefit one population of people, but to ensure minority patient populations always find visibility and solace within their provider.” - a snippet from my personal statement.

Studies show Black and Brown women are nearly 4 times as likely to experience pregnancy related deaths as compared to their white counterparts, even when other factors like socioeconomic status and education are controlled. Black women also suffer disproportionately with morbidity and mortality in all major gynecological malignancies when compared with their white counterparts.

While I cannot change the outcome of every single patient in this world, I make a promise to all my future patients, especially BIPOC women, to genuinely listen, not just to hear you.
I feel so blessed to be able to continue this journey, pursuing the only career I’ve ever seen fit for me. Alhamdullilah. - Dr. Aleijah Imani Foxworth-Mandhu. by @_leijah
