Our anniversary trip to Baltimore was beautiful in more ways than one. 💛

Kev and I spent part of our time at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, and somehow, what was supposed to be a quick visit turned into three hours of learning, reflecting, laughing, grieving, and taking it all in.

There were moments that were hard to sit with. Stories that hurt. Truths that reminded us of how much our people have endured, survived, created, and overcome.

And then there were the beautiful moments, the stories of resilience, brilliance, creativity, resistance, love, and community. The reminders that even in the face of unimaginable circumstances, Black people have continued to build, dream, create, organize, love, and leave something behind for the generations coming after us.

We walked out of that museum feeling full…not just with knowledge, but with perspective.

There’s something powerful about experiencing history with someone you love. Being able to look at each other, process what you’re seeing, have conversations, laugh, get emotional, and continue learning together.

And honestly, it’s a beautiful thing to spend time with someone whose company you truly enjoy. 💛

Ten years of marriage, and we’re still learning each other, learning the world, learning our history, and figuring out how to make this life meaningful together.

Here’s to love that makes room for growth.
To history that reminds us of our power.
To those who made a way.
To the generations we’re making a way for.
And to continuing to choose each other…in this lifetime and every multiverse we can imagine. 🥂🏾🖤
