I’ve spent a lot of this past year feeling like I’m trying to find my way back to myself.

Somewhere between the unexpected endings, the disappointments, the prayers that haven’t been answered the way I hoped, and the plans that didn’t turn out quite how I imagined, I think I lost a little bit of that girl who used to believe anything was possible.

And maybe the hardest part has been realizing that I can’t always control what happens next. I can’t make things work out just because I want them to. I can’t rush God’s timing, and I can’t go backward and change what’s already happened.

But I can decide what happens next with me.

I can decide to stop letting the hardest chapters of my life define the rest of my story.

I can decide to believe that there are still beautiful things ahead, even if I can’t see them yet.

And I can decide that I’m not going to wait until everything falls perfectly into place to start feeling like myself again.

Maybe getting your spark back isn’t something that just happens one morning.

Maybe it starts with a decision.

And maybe today is a good day to make it. 🤍

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized there’s a difference between being capable of doing everything on my own and actually wanting to.

I’ve spent most of my life being independent. I’ve built a career, taken care of myself, made hard decisions, figured things out when things fell apart, and learned how to keep going even when I didn’t really have another option.

And I’m proud of that woman.

But somewhere along the way, I think I started believing that because I could carry everything, I was supposed to.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I’ve realized how much I love being in my feminine. I want a relationship where I can soften. Where I don’t always have to lead, plan, fix or figure everything out. Where being with a strong, masculine man doesn’t make me less independent. It gives me the freedom to put some of that independence down.

I’ll probably always be the woman who can do it herself.

I just finally learned that I don’t have to want to. 🤍
