Who is really king in your life? It’s easy to say that Jesus is Lord. But sometimes, without even realizing it, we look to other things to give us what only He can give-security, approval, control, identity, comfort, or hope. That’s what struck me in 1 Samuel 8. Israel already had a King. God had rescued them, led them, provided for them, and remained faithful to them. Yet they looked around at the nations and said, “Give us a king... like all the nations.” They wanted something visible. Something they could see, something that made them feel secure. And God told Samuel, “They have rejected me from being king over them.” And honestly, I see myself in that. How often do I try to take back control? How often do I look to people, relationships, plans, success, or approval to make me feel secure? The invitation isn’t simply to try harder to put God first. It’s to surrender again-to remember who He is and trust that He is a better King than anything I could choose for myself. There is no other King who can save, satisfy, lead, and love us like Jesus. So today, ask yourself: What am I tempted to look to instead of Him? What am I holding onto that He is asking me to surrender? Jesus, You are King. Help my life reflect it. by @_living.hope

Made to magnify!!! Our lives were never meant to revolve around, making much of ourselves, but around, making much of Jesus. & this happens in the ordinary places of our days in the words we choose, the time we give the Lord, the hidden acts of service, the waiting we surrender, the truth we allow to shape our minds. Magnifying Jesus isn’t about adding more things to an already full schedule or striving to become someone impressive. It’s about returning our attention to him and allowing his word to shape the way we live! An invitation for today is choose one of these practices & make room for the Lord!! ask him to teach you what it looks like to make much of him right where he has placed you!
