Mama always said, “Anything worth having is worth working for,” and mannnn did I work for this!

I am so proud of my education! Proud to have sat in classrooms with people from all over the world with vastly different experiences yet still sharing common threads of humanity. Proud to have learned beside professors who saw me as a colleague with valuable insights. And proud of the research and advocacy I’ve contributed to over these years including healthcare in conflict zones, menstrual equity programs, post-war peacebuilding and recovery, and hate crime trends in the U.S.

Graduate school, you have reimagined my passion and helped me truly believe that ordinary people actually hold the power to drive change. That’s all I want to do..

Be a voice. Be a hand. Be a listening ear. Be an example.
In this country or the next… 🗺️

& this time next year, I’ll have a Master’s degree… WHAT! 🥹 Through the trials and many tears this school year has brought, God has remained faithful.

I really couldn’t let 2025 roll over without acknowledging how beautiful my 2024 was. Last year has been the best year of my life yet. Definitely ✨not the easiest ✨, but still my most fulfilling and exciting year.

I really just want to brag on God because I didn’t have anything planned out for 2024 other than graduating college.

I took some big steps from moving off campus and living with the best roommate ever (@salliekatet) to graduating undergrad (@unccharlotte), to deciding on graduate school in DC (@americanuniversity), getting in, and making the big move, to juggling two jobs and a full school work load. Whew! The Lord has been kind and has held my hand through it all.

I am expecting God‘s grace and mercy again this year in my life & yours. ❤️ by @_livpacker
