finally saying goodbye to the last 12 years of my life

I cannot thank this sport enough for making me the person, teammate, and athlete I am today. I am so grateful for every team I’ve been a part of, every coach, and all my teammates over the years. It’s heartbreaking to close this chapter of my life but I am so happy it happened. by @_lizzy.mccann_

last run as a bulldog 🐾💙

This year both of my cross country and track seasons were extremely tough and not up to my expectations that I had for myself. It was mentally draining knowing that I was not reaching my full potential and was not improving as fast as I wanted to. Even with all the setbacks, I couldn’t love this sport anymore than I already do. I am so grateful that God humbled me and challenged me this past year to show me my love for running is so much more than how fast I am and what time I run. My love comes from my teammates, coaches, friends, accomplishments, opportunities, and memories I’ve made in this sport. I am so thankful that I have all these things because that is what makes this sport so special. Even though my running career isn’t over, I will miss high school so much. I couldn’t be more proud of my teammates this season and privileged to run with them. I give God all my gratitude for blessing me with these amazing past four years. by @_lizzy.mccann_
