As silly as it may seem to some, @ungphimu has changed my life.

If you had told 18 year old, barely two months cancer-free, two hours from the only home she’d ever known Logan that she’d grow into who she is now, all because she joined a sorority, she probably (definitely) would’ve rolled her eyes and said that she would NEVER “buy her friends,” let alone lead a “stupid sorority.”

I didn’t plan on going to college.
I didn’t plan on being a sorority girl.
I didn’t plan on staying in Dahlonega.
But God sure had a funny way of putting me exactly where I was supposed to be.

During my first year of college, my entire world seemed to be crumbling beneath my feet. The women of this chapter, who were strangers at the time, never once hesitated to be my “shoulder to cry on, ear to listen, and heart to feel” (iykyk).

I knew I needed to run for president when my love for this organization and the women in it, brought me to tears.
I knew that I had to try and make a difference, even if it was small, in something bigger than myself.

Kappa Upsilon has given me confidence in who I am and who I’m becoming, pride in what brought me here, and faith that God has plans that surpass mine. The women of this chapter have held me accountable, pushed me to be my very best, and reflected God’s goodness in ways that have changed me.

It seems that most are ready to be done when their term comes to an end, but I cannot say the same. I have poured my entire heart and soul into this chapter, and the privilege to lead it has become a part of me that I will cherish forever.

Someone once told me that I would get from Phi Mu what I gave to Her, and since then I have told every new Phi Mu those exact words. This place and these people truly have become my home away from home and given me more than I will ever be able to repay.

This season has been my favorite, though it seems that each one only gets better as I go.

A simple “thank you” will never feel like enough, hence the long-winded caption (that i’m not sorry for btw).

Thank you UNG for the best four years. I am so blessed to have found something so hard to leave. This place was truly an answered prayer and the friendships i’ve built will last me a lifetime.

If i’ve learned anything in Dahlonega, it’s to take the leap of faith. The best things in my life have come from taking chances, being open to opportunities, and trusting where God is leading me. I’m praying my next leap brings the same joy this season has. I’m grateful to say I’ve accepted a position as a Business Development Specialist with Wurth Industry USA in Orlando, Florida.

I owe it all to my momma. In true Leslei fashion, a few of her final wise words to me were, “Get your [butt] to school. We don’t want no stupid girls.” And I did not take that lightly. 🤟🏼 taken in University of North Georgia by @_logannn_
