No more Sunday scaries 🎷

At Ortliebs on the last Sunday of every month, we’ll be hosting the legend himself, Corey Bernhard’s (@misterweebles) “A Jam Without Borders” series. Every month, Corey will curate a lineup of incredible musicians from across the country to join him on stage and collaborate on a freestyle sonic journey guided by nothing but vibes, only existing in the very moment its played.

Not only will you have the opportunity to see Grammy award-winning musicians in their element, but you’ll also be contributing to an extremely important cause. Proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the incredible @vamos_juntos_ , and their efforts to protect immigrants in our community that need support now more then ever.

Join us at Ortlieb’s on 5/31 for the big kick off show (and the unofficial after party for the roots picnic). The night starts at 9pm with an opening set from @_lotits_ , before Corey takes the stage with:

Fall ‘24 we were back in the studio after a crazy summer of shows and releases. We had made a ton of new (still unreleased) music over the last couple of years but when we got into @wattstudio_phl on this night everything clicked. To me, this was the song that… not defined the album, but confirmed that we were making one. I had been digging thru some samples and showed up w a few gems to surprise the team with. @_lotits_ broke out @jeffbagg ‘s lap steel guitar and hooked it up to a distortion pedal. Within minutes we were up and running, @suzannesheer got to writing and we knocked out what would become “Over & Over” in one night. It just so happened @julinwert was there to capture it all. Later we’d call on @__mr_skeleton to lay the bass and @flanafi to do what he does on guitar and after v3 sat on the hard drive for about a year me and Lo would go back in to tweak it out one more time.

The end result is kinda weird, a little chaotic, fun, messy, full of energy, and one of my fav tracks we’ve made together. Mixed by @slowwaveaudio, mastered by @ryanschwabe_ I hope ya’ll enjoy it <3
