tik, tik… BOOM! is marvelous! Andrew Garfield delivers a career best performance as Jonathan Larson, and this may be Lin-Manuel Miranda’s best Hollywood work yet! It’s a movie about artists, for artists. I laughed and I cried. One of my favorites of the year so far!

Watch it on #Netflix now

Happy birthday, Marty!

From the movie brats of the ‘70s to taking slander from Marvel fanboys on Twitter, Scorsese has left a deep imprint on cinema during his career of over 50 years! There is not a more intelligent film mind on the planet, of that you can be sure.

“but isn’t everything we do in life a way to be loved a little more?”

Richard Linklater’s beautiful romantic trilogy spanning 18 years with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. The beauty and the tragedy of life. Pure, wonderful filmmaking. Cinema in its truest form.

What a wild night! The Oscars broke tradition and some of it worked but a lot of it definitely didn’t. I’ll unpack everything in the next couple of days but I have a lot to mull over until then.

My final predictions are live now! Best picture seems to be a wrap, but we’re no stranger to upsets. Who do you think will win the biggest award of the night?

Chloé Zhao (NOMADLAND) and Emerald Fennell (PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN) are both set for big nights on Sunday. I took a look at directing, as well as writing (adapted screenplay) and writing (original screenplay) over at Oscars Corner.
